No end in sight after a year of war in Ukraine

by

As Ukraine’s fight with Russia reaches the one-year mark, both sides continue to suffer heavy losses, and the conflict shows no signs of abating.

Analysts estimate that nearly 200,000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded in the war. By comparison, Ukraine has seen some 100,000 killed or wounded in action and 30,000 civilian deaths.

In terms of equipment lost, the conflict has resulted in a level of destruction not seen in Europe since World War II, with open-source data indicating a combined loss from the two sides of more than 12,000 military systems.

This includes over 2,000 tanks, 4,000 armored vehicles, and 1,000 artillery pieces.
