Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene got the last laugh Wednesday morning in the Homeland Security Committee House hearing when she hit Eric Swalwell with a zinger so hard the Democrats asked for her words to be stricken from the record.
The feisty congresswoman was responding to Swalwell’s accusation she had called for defunding of the FBI. He brought props.
“That was quite entertaining from someone that had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy. And everyone knows it,” she said on the record.
Moments later the Democrats asked for her to retract her statement, and she responded, “No, I will not.”
“Eric Swalwell was removed from the Intelligence Committee because he had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy.” Greene tweeted later.
“But he stills makes all kinds of ridiculous accusations every day in Congress about me, my colleagues, and President Trump.
We all know it’s true, Eric Swalwell had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy. And I’ll never retract that.”
