Former first lady Melania Trump is essentially living a “strange isolated” life in Florida according to an author with inside knowledge.
Laurence Leamer, the author of the 2019 book, “Mar-a-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump’s Presidential Palace,” contends Melania Trump has effectively cut off the public since 2020, rarely leaving the Palm Beach resort Mar-A-Lago and only occasionally going outside.
“She rarely exits Mar-a-Lago. It’s a strange, isolated life they have in that place,” Leamer told The Daily Telegraph on Monday.
“Nobody knows where she is. It’s like a mystery. It’s certainly talked about,” the author added.
“Prior to becoming first lady, Mrs. Trump would reportedly often be sighted by Mar-a-Lago members, particularly in the club’s beauty parlour,” The Daily Telegraph reported.
“These days, however, residents in the wealthy island enclave say she is rarely seen in public,” the outlet added, noting that the former first lady’s “whereabouts are an intriguing ‘mystery’ to her neighbours.”
“She rarely exits Mar-a-Lago. It’s a strange, isolated life they have in that place,” Learner told the outlet.
The UK publication interestingly noted that the Learner “was banned for life from Mar-a-Lago by Mr. Trump over his reporting,” but says he “still had many friends who regularly attend the club and are bemused by Mrs Trump’s conspicuous absence from the social scene.”
The Trump family’s living quarters are reportedly “right off the main hall” at Mar-a-Lago but even that has not helped in sightings of the former first lady.
While former President Donald Trump has made a personal appearance at his civil fraud trial in New York as well as court appearances related to other arraignments, his wife has never accompanied him. She has also not been spotted on the 2024 campaign trail with her husband as he holds rallies and speaks at various events.
Mrs. Trump, however, was seen in public recently when she attended the memorial service for former first lady Rosalynn Carter. She also turned up in person to a naturalization ceremony at the National Archives. The Slovenian-born former model, who became a U.S. citizen herself, was on hand to speak to the nation’s newest citizens about her own personal immigration journey.
But her noticeable absence from Christmas messages or events with her husband raised questions once again.

Previous reports have indicated that Mrs. Trump has been focused on parenting the couple’s 17-year-old son Barron who is a senior in high school.
“She wants to protect him… and if Trump was back in the White House, Barron will be all over the news because he’s an adult [now],” Learner told The Telegraph.
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former friend and adviser to Mrs. Trump, said last month that the former first lady will steadfastly support her husband, whether or not she chooses to make public appearances with him.
“She always said she was going to do what she wanted to do,” she said, according to Daily Mail. “It was a way to protect her by not letting anyone fully know who she is.”
