U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., “totally embarrassed herself” during an impeachment hearing as she questioned Hunter Biden’s former business partner, Tony Bobulinski.
The New York Democrat was mocked online after she declared during the questioning Wednesday that “RICO is not a crime,” referring to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act aimed at activities such as money laundering and organized crime. It is a RICO case that has been brought against former President Donald Trump in Georgia over the 2020 election.
“Is it your testimony today that you personally witnessed President Joe Biden commit a crime?” Ocasio-Cortez grilled Bobulinski, repeating her question when he didn’t answer fast enough.
“How much time do I have to go through it?” Bobulinski replied as he tried to list how President Joe Biden committed a RICO violation.

“What is the crime sir, specifically,” the Squad member pressed.
“You asked me to answer the question. I answered the question. RICO, you’re obviously not familiar with. Corruption statutes. FARA,” Bobulinski responded.
“Excuse me, sir. Excuse me, sir. RICO is not a crime. It is a category,” AOC declared.
“It’s a category of crimes that you are then charged under,” Bobulinski tried to explain. “It’s funny, in this committee room — everyone’s not here — there are over 18 lawyers that went to law school. I’ll leave it up to you guys to define the statute.”
“I reclaim my time!” Ocasio-Cortez exclaimed as she talked over Bobulinski.
Her behavior and her RICO take earned her scathing criticism online.
“And, of course… AOC’s favorite network has her back after she completely and totally embarrassed herself by arguing that RICO is not a crime,” Fox News contributor Joe Concha wrote on X.
The Republican-led House Oversight Committee tried to help the congresswoman out with a “hint.”
