Biden asks NAACP crowd what they think Trump would have done if Jan 6 protesters were black

by

President Joe Biden kept up his latest appeal to America’s black voters by taking more racially-charged jabs at his political opponent.

Two days of traveling to prop up the Biden campaign’s outreach to black voters in the key swing states of Georgia and Michigan, the president addressed thousands at the NAACP Detroit Branch’s 69th annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner.

After he had already trashed former President Donald Trump at Morehouse College in Atlanta where he was the keynote speaker, Biden targeted his Republican rival at the NAACP gala Sunday night.

“What do you think he would have done on January 6 if black Americans had stormed the Capitol?” the president asked the crown who reacted with a gasp to his question.

“No, I’m serious. What do you think?” he asked again.

“I can only imagine,’ as Trump has long promised to pardon those involved in the 2021 Capitol attack if he’s elected to a second term in November,” he told the crowd.

“Folks, Trump isn’t running to lead America,” the resident told the crowd at one point. “He is running for revenge. Revenge is no way to lead the country. You can’t build a future on revenge.”

The Trump campaign’s Black media coordinator, Janiyah Thomas, slammed Biden for being “on a pandering tour because he knows what we all know: Without the Black vote, there is no Democrat Party.”

“Today, Black voters can see through what Joe Biden is trying to sell because they know, like all Americans, that inflation is eating away at wages, the border is in chaos, and in big blue cities, Black children are trapped in unsafe neighborhoods and failing schools,” Thomas said in a statement.

While most of the attendees at the dinner were happy with Biden’s speech, one person criticized the “campaign stump speech.”

“It was a campaign speech — about what I expected,” Ali Dagher of Dearborn told The Detroit News. “But he didn’t talk at all about what’s happening in Gaza. He didn’t even mention it, and I had hoped he would talk about that. He didn’t cover other world events, either. It was basically a campaign stump speech.”

  1. The funny thing is that the people who protest who were of color got the biggest sentences from the courts. The proud boys leader who got 30 years is black.
