Former President Donald Trump ripped into a “naive” Fox News host for a “STUPID” take on his hush money trial in New York.
Fox News’s Shannon Bream was speaking with Trump lawyer Alina Habba on Wednesday when she challenged her view on President Joe Biden’s role in the show trial where the former president is facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Bream’s pushback on Habba’s remarks ignited Trump who tore into her in a Truth Social post later.
During Fox News’ coverage of the trial Wednesday as the jury deliberated, Habba, who is not representing Trump in the hush-money trial, spoke with Bream on the air about the “Biden show.”
“Joe Biden, unfortunately, can’t really do anything in office,” said Habba. “So, he’s got to use the same means as somebody who’s just trying to have a quick slip-and-fall and make money. And that is frankly what we’re seeing right now. This is exactly a Biden show because he’s got to distract the American people.”
“But the Biden administration’s not responsible for this trial,” Bream interrupted.
“How can you say the Biden administration is not responsible for this trial?” Habba shot back.
“It’s a state trial,” Bream replied. “It’s Alvin Bragg. Whether you think there’s a political motive for him, it’s not connected to the DOJ. I mean, the feds passed on these election charges.”
“Shannon, you should look at how many logs they have of state officials – Letitia James, Fani Willis – visiting the White House and then tell me that this is not a Biden trial,” the lawyer noted.
“The feds passed on this, is the point I’m making,” Bream attempted to clarify, but Habba continued to connect the dots for her by noting how prosecutors and officials had already passed on pursuing charges.
“You know when it came back? When he decided to run for office,” Habba declared.
“So tell me how that’s not an indication that Joe Biden, who just sent his campaign down here with Robert De Niro yesterday, isn’t a part of this? Frankly, any question that we had of that was squashed yesterday,” she added, referring to the publicity stunt outside the courthouse on Tuesday.
“And if you have even more concerns about whether he’s involved in this, look at the fact that he is publicizing, literally publicizing for tonight to have a speech if a verdict comes out,” Habba said of Biden. “That’s a sad state of affairs. Meanwhile, our country is falling apart. He’s got bigger fish to fry.”
Trump tore into Bream in a post following the segment.
“I never knew Shannon Bream was so ‘naïve.’ In her interview with my Representative, Alina Habba, Shannon just suggested that Crooked Joe Biden was not involved in my Show Trial,” the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee wrote. “HOW STUPID!”
“Not only is he involved, he is virtually leading it, and all of the other Trials as well – Meaning, his people, because he’s not mentally sharp enough to lead anything!” Trump wrote.
“Just take a look at the DOJ/White House Thugs involved, and everything else. Biden is incompetent, and feels that Weaponization is the only way he can win. He’s counting on the Shannon Breams of the World to get him there,” he added. “Bad day for Shannon!”
In another Truth Social post, Trump called out Bream again as well as Fox News host Neil Cavuto for being “anti-MAGA.”
“Neil Cavuto and Shannon Bream should team up and do a Show together,” he wrote. “The Ratings wouldn’t be good, because they’re anti-MAGA, but it’s not all about the Ratings!”
