A Pride Month celebration at the White House revealed that verbal stumbles are not reserved just for President Joe Biden.
The 81-year-old Democrat seems unable to deliver remarks without flubbing his lines and his daughter, Ashley Biden, seemed to follow in his footsteps at one point during a speech on the South Lawn of the White House on Wednesday.
Granted, it was just once, but the 43-year-old first daughter tripped over the LGBTQ acronym while speaking to the gathered crowd at the White House Pride Month event, setting off a wave of social media mockery.
“Too many LGBTQ children grow up in homes that don’t accept them,” Ashley Biden, flanked by first lady Jill Biden, said.
Telling the crowd that she is now a social worker, she went on to emphasize the importance of children feeling “loved, accepted and supported.” But the alphabet tripped her up as she pronounced, “LGBCT…“ before correcting herself.
“LGBTQ students deserve to be safe at school, at home and in their communities. Period,” she said.
“L-G-B-what now?” asked the Republican National Committee’s RNC Research account on X.
