While Sen.J.D. Vance continues to throw cold water on the Democrats’ many personal attacks on him, James Golden, aka Bo Snerdley, doesn’t believe the backlash will affect former President Donald Trump’s campaign.
Golden spoke with NewsNation’s “Morning In America” about the meltdown from the left over recently resurfaced comments by Vance that “childless cat ladies” would run the country. The Republican vice presidential nominee has clarified that his words from the 2021 interview were taken out of context, explaining to journalist Megyn Kelly that it was meant as a criticism of Democrats who have become an anti-family party.
Vance has continued to dominate the headlines as Democrats find whatever they can to throw against him in a coordinated smear campaign. But Golden does not believe this is hurting the Trump-Vance campaign.
“I think this is kind of playbook,” he said, pointing out how mainstream media acts as “opposition research for the Democrat Party.”
“Republicans out to realize this is pretty much playbook. You’ve got a guy running for vice president. You have a woman who is the vice president who’s now being elevated without any votes from her party to become the president of the United States,” he said. “And she has a track record.”
The longtime producer with Rush Limbaugh’s radio show urged Republicans to “not get squeamish” and “take a chill pill” as Trump at the top of the GOP ticket with Vance as his running mate will be fine in the coming weeks before the November election.
“There will be a lot more news generated in the next 99 days,” Golden, who is on the air six days a week on 77WABC, said, cautioning Republicans not to fall into the “trap” that previous VP candidates did.
He urged Republicans to focus on the record of Vice President Kamala Harris and the things she has actually done rather than give in to “self-doubt” and get sidetracked by words that Vance has reportedly said and then explained.
