Apple’s new “Entrepreneur Camp” is accepting applications but white and Asian men should probably not trouble themselves with applying.
“Apple Entrepreneur Camp is designed for established app-driven businesses that are ready to join our exclusive technology lab and actively engage with our alumni community,” the company states.

“Research shows that founders from underrepresented communities face unique challenges, especially when starting and leading technology companies,” Apple explains, noting the goal of the camp is to support them by offering “programming for founders and developers who are female*, Black, Hispanic/Latinx, or Indigenous.”
The asterisk next to “*female” is footnoted at the bottom of the email:
“*Apple believes that gender expression is a fundamental right. We welcome all women to apply to this program.”
There is your loophole. Identify as female and you’re in.

The camp includes lab weeks that are aimed at “Female founders and underrepresented founders” among others and is open to applicants worldwide – excluding the races and genders not listed in the eligibility requirements.
“We created Apple Entrepreneur Camp with the goal of supporting these founders and their organizations as they build the next generation of cutting-edge apps and to form a global network that encourages the pipeline and longevity of underrepresented founders and developers in technology,” Apple states.
This is blatantly illegal and @Apple isn’t even bothering to hide it.

With the federal government pushing DEI initiatives on every level, Apple’s focus on “equity” rather than “equality” seems to fit right in to the narrative. And presenting their training as a “camp” rather than a hiring process skirts the edge of what seems legal.
The company was ripped by social media users outraged by the blatant discrimination.
Racism is racism. I hope Apple is sued into oblivion for violating people’s civil rights.

This is blatant racism by Apple

If they said the reverse. They’d be canceled.
You say this and no one blinks an eye.
Sad days for this country.
— Rob Coates 🇺🇸 (@LuckyHippie926) August 13, 2024
This is highly illegal but since the federal government doesn’t enforce discrimination laws then Apple and other companies get away with it.

If the colors were reversed the civil rights division of the DOJ would indict everyone involved. This is not ok. If you’re white or Asian and “passed over” sue apple. This is direct evidence of discrimination and the creation of a hostile work environment.

It’s so cumbersome how they list everyone who can apply based on identity. Why not simply say “no white men” and be done with it? That’s the whole point of it anyway.
