A former NFL wide receiver was slammed as a “racist” online after he blasted Clemson University’s football team over its lack of diversity, posting online that they have a “recruiting problem.”
Former Atlanta Falcons star Roddy White called out the Tigers after Clemson got trounced by the Georgia Bulldogs 34-3 on Saturday at the start of the 2024 college football season.
“No. 13 Clemson was hoping to start the season with an upset over No. 1 Georgia. But the Tigers fell off the pace in the second half after keeping it a six-point game at halftime. Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck threw two touchdowns in the second half while Nate Frazier and Cash Jones ran for one touchdown each,” Fox News reported.

After the brutal loss, White took to social media to rip the team and make it all about race.
“Clemson got way to (sic) many White dudes on the field on offense this ain’t them. U mean to tell me u only got one Black dude out there making plays that’s a recruiting problem,” the Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor inductee wrote on X.

The Tigers haven’t beaten the Georgia team since 2013, and they lost in the Sugar Bowl in 2020 as well as the Orange Bowl in 2022. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney took a lot of the heat for the loss – and the team’s recent performances – after Saturday’s defeat.
Dabo Swinney’s job is to do everything he can to assemble a team that can compete at the highest level of college football.
He’s not doing his job and will be criticized accordingly and it’s completely fair.

It wasn’t always that way since Swinney took over in the 2008 season, going on to win two national championships with quarterbacks Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence.
“People are going to say whatever they want to say,” Swinney said, through ClemsonWire. “It doesn’t matter what I say. People are going to say whatever they’re going to say. And when you lose like this, they’ve got every right to say whatever they want to say. So, say whatever you want to say, write whatever you want to write. That comes with it. That’s just part of it.”
But White’s criticism of the lack of diversity on the team sparked plenty of reactions on X where he was ripped for being a “racist.”
