Manhunt for Fani Willis’ lover is launched by US marshals after Nathan Wade disappears

by

After a manhunt by U.S. Marshals to serve Nathan Wade a congressional subpoena, the former Trump prosecutor emerged Thursday to be given the summons.

For nearly a week, the special prosecutor connected to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis evaded being served the subpoena issued by the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, prompting a search by federal law enforcement agents. Lawmakers were seeking Wade’s testimony in the congressional investigation of Willis’s prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

“Six days after the subpoena was issued by the committee, Wade called the US Marshals and finally made an appointment for service – ending the standoff,” The New York Post reported late Thursday night, citing an unnamed source.

“Lover boy, Nathan Wade is missing,” Fox News host Jesse Watters had reported Thursday.

“The House Judiciary Committee, which is investigating Georgia DA Fannie Willis, needs Wade to testify at a hearing tomorrow on their love affair. But no one can find the guy. They’re trying to serve him, but he’s flown the coop, and now the US marshals are in a manhunt to track him down,” he said.

Russell Dye, a spokesman for the committee, had called Wade’s actions “extremely unusual.”

“The Judiciary Committee has served over 100 subpoenas this Congress. We have done so, for the most part, without controversy or the need to use the US Marshals,” Dye said in a statement. “Nathan Wade’s evasion of service is extremely unusual and will require the Committee to spend US tax dollars to locate him.”

“The committee issued the subpoena on Friday, attempted to serve the subpoena to Nathan Wade’s lawyer, who declined, and subsequently the committee tried to serve the subpoena via email through Nathan Wade himself, never heard back. As a result, the committee had to use the assistance of the U.S. Marshals, who have also not been able to find Nathan Wade,” Dye told Newsweek on Wednesday.

Wade’s attorney Andrew Evans told Newsweek on Wednesday that his client previously “voluntarily agreed to go up to Washington, D.C., and the Republicans canceled it.”

“The eleventh-hour intervention from District Attorney Willis does not excuse your failure to appear for your transcribed interview,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) wrote last week in addressing Wade.
