Vice President Kamala Harris and the Biden administration are under fire for adding insult to injury for those devastated by the destructive Hurricane Helene.
Two days after former President Donald Trump rolled through Georgia to survey the damage after the monster storm slammed Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, Harris arrived for her photo op and a stunning reminder of the concerns of the administration.
The Democratic presidential nominee toured Augusta and spoke with Mayor Garnett Johnson after a briefing from local officials at the Augusta Utilities offices.
Kamala:
— Finally realizes there’s a crisis and follows President Trump to Georgia
— Hauls the press into a staged briefing so they can capture her at the head of the table
— Kicks the press out and tells the mayor she’s “now listening” after her photo op is complete pic.twitter.com/YjfpUHugWn

“I’m here today to thank all of those who are working to get folks the help they so desperately need and deserve,” Harris said after a close-up look at the damage.
She touted the administration’s efforts to get help to those in desperate need, reminding that families who have essentially lost everything can look forward to $750 from the federal government.
Oooh, $50 more than they offered families in Maui.
They have sent billions to Ukraine … https://t.co/EmTrxh6L0x

Social media users ripped into the VP for the out-of-touch remarks and empty gestures to American families suffering in the wake of the deadly hurricane, reminding the federal response to victims of the 2023 Maui fire that killed 102 people and destroyed more than 2,000 structures.
That’s an insult given what we are sending to Ukraine.

What a travesty. Just like in Hawaii. Meanwhile illegals get housing, food, medical care, phones and spending money. What is wrong with these people?

Wtf can anyone do in the economy with 750?! That’ll be gone in less than a day THIS IS PURE EVIL

To be fair, at least she hid her $62,000.00 necklace while announcing that desperate, destitute citizens would get $750.

It’s actually less if you account for the inflation she caused.

Pitiful. They have no home anymore. Everything they owned was destroyed. How are they supposed to relocate to another area, pay 1st and last months rent for an apartment? Ridiculous.
