The left’s double standard was on full display again as another Biden administration official played the victim, claiming criticism of the Federal Emergency Management Agency is “dangerous.”
FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell was shredded after she attempted to diffuse the “false” narratives about the agency’s response to Hurricane Helene during an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” where she whined to host George Stephanopoulos that “dangerous rhetoric” could hinder the agency’s recovery efforts.
The government is now a criminal organization. Like all criminal organizations, protecting itself is the highest goal.
So the FBI looks out for the FBI.
FEMA worries only about FEMA.

“It has a tremendous impact on the comfort level of our own employees to be able to go out there, but it’s also demoralizing to all of the first responders… FEMA staff, volunteers,” she claimed. “I need to make sure I can get the resources to where they are needed, and when you have this dangerous rhetoric like you’re hearing, it creates fear in our own employees.”
In western North Carolina alone, more than 100 people have died in the aftermath of the hurricane, which has claimed the lives of over 200 Americans since it plowed into Florida’s Big Bend area as a Category 4 hurricane. Delayed federal responses to victims and claims of FEMA obstructing relief efforts have circulated in the days since, with volunteers and locals relating harrowing experiences while the administration and agency deny their accounts.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson called the federal government’s response an “abject failure” while Elon Musk wrote on X: “FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!”
“This kind of rhetoric is not helpful to people. You know, it’s really a shame that we’re putting politics ahead of helping people, and that’s what we’re here to do,” Criswell told Stephanopoulos.
The issue has warranted a special page on the agency’s website to address what they claim is misinformation being circulated.
But Criswell’s self-pity and finger-pointing only made things worse online as social media users slammed her ABC appearance.
The comfort level of hurricane victims matters way more to me right now than the comfort level of FEMA employees.

FEMA plays the victim card
Criticism is dangerous?!? GTFO— 𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗭 (@rodriQuez) October 6, 2024
Saying that criticizing the Regime is “dangerous” is the telltale sign of a Totalitarian Regime. History’s clear.
And leave it to George Stephanopoulos to try to “Jan 6” a story that should be about effective government response in a disaster emergency.
It’s all he’s got.

People watching their homes float down the river: man, I hope this doesn’t make FEMA feel uncomfortable

Governments resist accountability. Her message is clear: please don’t talk about people dying, left to fend for themselves, or slow response times because it might hurt our feelings. She’s refusing to hold her department accountable, so she should resign immediately. This is…

Ooo they can’t handle criticism. They just need to shut up and do their job instead of going on political Sunday shows crying.

I would imagine seeing your house floating down a river, not knowing where the rest of your family is while seeing grandma dead in a tree, then getting a check for $750 would be fairly frightening.
Then again, it’s just those pain in the ass citizens…

People are suffering, and these people somehow find a way to make other people’s suffering all about their hurt feelings.
