CNN panelist is thrown off set for joking, ‘I hope your beeper doesn’t go off’ in CRAZY tv moment

by

A conservative panelist on CNN was removed from the discussion and banned from the network after an exchange with fellow guest Mehdi Hasan.

The left-wing commentator played the victim during a discussion on “CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip” about former President Donald Trump’s rally in New York City, labeling supporters as Nazis. He later mentioned he was supportive of Palestinians and Ryan Girdusky’s response sent him into a meltdown.

“My problem is, I get it, nobody wants to be called Nazis, it’s very inflammatory. But if you don’t want to be called Nazis, stop doing…” Hasan was saying when Girdursky reminded that he’s “been called an antisemite more than anyone at this table.”

“By people like you … I’m in support of the Palestinians, I’m used to it,” Hasan replied as Gidursky denied the charge.

“I hope your beeper doesn’t go off,” Girdursky then told Hasan, seeming to refer to last month’s pager bombs reportedly orchestrated by Israel and aimed at Hezbollah terrorists.

“Did you say I should die? You just said I should be killed,” a shocked Hasan fired back.

“No, no I did not say that,” Girdusky responded.

Turning to host Abby Phillip, an outraged Hasan asked, “Did your guest just say I should be killed on live TV?”

He  accused CNN of giving airtime to someone “saying the Muslim guy should be blown up.”

“Then I apologize. I focused on Hamas, I apologize,” Girdusky responded as Hasan continued, “I don’t support Hamas, I support Palestinian rights.”

“Forget the racism, it’s ‘I should die.’ What does beeper mean? What did you mean by the beeper? At least have the guts to support your racist comment,” Hasan continued. “Don’t call us Nazis but threaten the brown guy as a terrorist and kill him.”

Philip admonished Girdursky who apologized again and then went to break. When the show returned, the two men were no longer on set.

“I want to apologize to Mehdi Hasan for what was said at this table. It was completely unacceptable,” the host told viewers. “When we get this discussion started, you’ll see that Ryan is not at the table. There is a line that was crossed there and it’s not acceptable to me. It’s not acceptable to us at this network.”

“We can have conversations about what is happening in this country without resorting to the lowest of the lowest kind of discourse,” she added.

CNN issued a statement as well:

“There is zero room for racism or bigotry at CNN or on our air. We aim to foster thoughtful conversations and debate including between people who profoundly disagree with each other in order to explore important issues and promote mutual understanding. But we will not allow guests to be demeaned or for the line of civility to be crossed.”

“Ryan Girdusky will not be welcomed back at our network,” CNN added.

Phillip addressed why Hasan did not remain on set in a message she posted, explaining he was not asked to leave by CNN but is welcome back anytime.

Girdusky addressed the incident on his X account, calling out the network.

“You can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi and have taken money from Qatar-funded media. Apparently you can’t go on CNN if you make a joke. I’m glad America gets to see what CNN stands for.”
