Former first lady Melania Trump will reportedly not accompany her husband when he meets with President Joe Biden, as is tradition.
Biden and President-elect Donald Trump had a polite phonecall after Election Day but an invitation to meet at the White House on Wednesday has reportedly only been accepted by the incoming Republican.
“Mrs. Trump is not going, and they have not spoken,” a source with knowledge told DailyMail.com of Melania Trump and Jill Biden.
Traditionally as the current and incoming presidents meet in the Oval Office, their wives enjoy tea at the White House. While Mrs. Trump was hosted by Michelle Obama in the Yellow Room after the 2016 election, she did not meet with Mrs. Biden after the 2020 election and the two have reportedly not spoken since Vice President Kamala Harris lost the race last week.
“The Bidens extended congratulations and a joint invite to the Trumps to meet at the White House,” Jill Biden’s office reportedly said.
A source told the New York Post simply, “She ain’t going.”
“Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting,” the source said. “Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet.”
The day after her husband’s landslide election victory in which he swept swing states, dominated the electoral votes and even won the popular vote, the incoming first lady posted a message on social media saying, “We will safeguard the heart of our republic – freedom. I anticipate the citizens of our nation rejoining in commitment to each other and rising above ideology for the sake of individual liberty, economic prosperity, and security.”
The majority of Americans have entrusted us with this important responsibility.

According to the White House, the outgoing president and first lady will be in attendance at Trump’s inauguration in January 2025.
“Traditionally, the outgoing president welcomes the incoming one to the White House on the morning of the inauguration before riding together in the same vehicle to the Capitol building for the swearing in,” Daily Mail noted. “Trump rode with then-President Barack Obama to his own inauguration. Biden attended that inauguration in his role as outgoing vice president. But, in 2020, Trump became the first president to skip his predecessor’s swearing-in so since Andrew Johnson skipped the 1869 swearing-in of Ulysses S. Grant.”
