Republican Representative Nancy Mace said she was assaulted at the Capitol by a “pro-trans” man who was later arrested.
Capitol police arrested 33-year-old James McIntyre on Tuesday after the alleged assault that occurred shortly before 6 p.m.
“I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man,” Mace, an outspoken critic of biological men in women’s restrooms and spaces, wrote in a post on X.
“One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine,” she added. “The Capitol police arrested the guy. Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO. #HoldTheLine.”
I was physically accosted tonight on Capitol grounds over my fight to protect women. Capitol police have arrested him.
All the violence and threats keep proving our point. Women deserve to be safe.
Your threats will not stop my fight for women!#HoldTheLine

“Just before 6:00 p.m., the Member of Congress’ office reported an incident in the Rayburn House Office Building. House Division officers, and agents with the Threat Assessment Section, tracked down the suspect,” the statement continued.
“After an investigative interview, officers arrested the suspect, 33-year-old James McIntyre of Illinois. McIntyre is facing a charge for Assaulting a Government Official,” the spokesperson said.
McIntyre reportedly went through security screening before entering the Rayburn House Office Building which was open to the public at the time, police noted.

Up your security. As an ideology begins to die, it resembles a wounded animal. It will carry out desperate act after desperate act until there’s nothing left but defeat. The public now knows this is a toxic ideology and it’s dying. Expect more desperate acts from these lunatics.
