Zuckerberg adds big Trump supporter Dana White to Meta board in HUGE surprise twist

by

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg made another move that seemed to draw him more in alignment with President-elect Donald Trump.

Zuckerberg announced Monday that one of Trump’s staunchest supporters, UFC President Dana White, will join the company’s board of directors. The move by Zuckerberg, himself a fan of mixed martial arts, comes after he announced the company would donate $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund.

“I’ve admired him as an entrepreneur and his ability to build such a beloved brand,” Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post, adding that the company’s 13-member board would now capitalize on “massive opportunities ahead in AI, wearables, and the future of social media.”

John Elkann, CEO of Exor NV, investor, and former Microsoft executive, Charlie Songhurst, have also recently been announced as part of the new board lineup.

“White’s appointment is particularly notable as it comes amid a broader apparent ideological shift to the right within Meta’s top ranks, and as Zuckerberg seeks to improve his relationship with Trump before the president-elect takes office later this month,” CNN reported.

White, who was seen with Trump after November’s election at a UFC match at Madison Square Garden, also spoke at the Republican National Convention. The UFC chief noted his appointment to the board in an Instagram post.

“I love social media. And I’m excited to be a small part of the future of AI and emerging technologies,” White said.

Social media users seemed to approve of the move.
