A lovely image of President Donald Trump and his family attending a National Prayer Service was spoiled by the lecturing of a woke bishop at the lectern.
The newly minted 47th president ripped into Episcopal Bishop of Washington Mariann Budde for her “nasty tone” during a sermon at what was supposed to be a religious service. Sitting next to First Lady Melania Trump in the front row with his family behind him, Trump was subjected to a political lecture by the “hard line Trump hater” who railed about transgender children and illegal immigrants.
“The so-called Bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a Radical Left hard line Trump hater,” the president wrote in a late-night post on his social media platform where he also said the bishop and the church “owe the public an apology!”
“She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart,” he added.
Trump referred to Budde’s remarks on illegal immigrants as he continued his post.
“She failed to mention the large number of illegal migrants that came into our Country and killed people. Many were deposited from jails and mental institutions. It is a giant crime wave that is taking place in the USA,” he wrote.
“Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one. She is not very good at her job! She and her church owe the public an apology!” he concluded.
Pastor Jentezen Franklin called out the “disrespectful and dishonoring” sermon.
I was there today and this was disrespectful and dishonoring. The pulpit should not be used to attack a leader who was kind enough to ask you to pray for him. It’s always right to show honor to a leader especially when he’s with his family and grandchildren. Choose Honor! pic.twitter.com/rayKmgWozm

Budde entreated Trump to grant “mercy upon the people in our country that are scared now” and used the Bible to make her point, saying, “God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger.”
“There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families, some who fear for their lives,” the far-left bishop claimed.

“The people who pick our crops, and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants, and work the night shifts in hospitals, they might not be citizens or have the proper documentation,” the political lecture continued. “The vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. I ask you to have mercy Mr. President on those in communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away.”
Asked about the sermon after the service, Trump was more reserved in his criticism than he would be later.
“What did you think?” he asked reporters who questioned him. “Did you like it? Did you find it exciting?”
“Not too exciting, was it? I didn’t think it was a good service,” he said. “They can do much better.”

Hours later, Budde proudly patted herself on the back during a CNN interview where she admitted that she used the pulpit and the Bible to give Trump the political rebuke.
“I was speaking to the president because I felt that he has this moment now where he feels charged and empowered to do what he feels called to do, and I wanted to say there is room for mercy. There is room for a broader compassion,” she said.
Why can’t these self-important people like this bishop realize that they are advocating slavery? I know that illegals who work for landscapers, restaurants, and other businesses most often get paid a paltry wage “under the table”. Most of the people who hire them offer no health benefits and the employers are the ones reaping the rewards of their labors. These rich people who hire illegals are reaping the rewards. They are no more than slaves and this bishop should help to put an end to this practice.
“The people who pick our crops, and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants, who wash the dishes…”
A little stereotypical? I’ve experienced lawyers, doctors and teachers.
