This week, it was revealed that visitors to the White House will be able to see “another iconic portrait” of President Donald Trump.
Images began to surface on social media from those attending the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday. Trump’s face is superimposed with the stars and stripes of the American flag in the new painting, which is now on a wall between portraits of Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush from when they served as first ladies.
The painting is hanging on the wall in the East Wing, near First Lady Melania Trump’s offices. Rep. Jimmy Patronis of Florida shared a snap from the White House.

A White House staffer called the new painting “another iconic portrait,” according to The Daily Mail and told the outlet that “Trump was re-elected after two failed impeachment hoaxes, dozens of criminal charges, and multiple assassination attempts. He can hang art wherever he wants!”
“Traditionally, the spot where Trump’s portrait now hangs in the entryway has been reserved for the most recent official presidential portrait,” Daily Mail noted.
“However, former President Joe Biden has not yet had an official portrait made since his January departure,” the outlet continued. “And while Trump does not have an official portrait from his first term it’s also unusual for a sitting president to have a portrait in the White House. However, Trump is in a unique position because he’s only the second president in U.S. history to serve non-consecutive terms.”
The new painting did not replace another work as Trump’s iconic fist-in-the-air image that was added to the White House. The image after the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pa., last year bumped a portrait of former President Barack Obama, which was moved across the hall.

In a new report, CNN confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave Trump a painting as a gift last month, delivered via envoy Steve Witkoff.
“It was important to me to show the blood, the scar and his bravery during the attempt on his life. He didn’t break down or become afraid, but raised his arm to show he is one with America and will bring back what it deserves,” the artist, Nikas Safronov, told CNN in Moscow.
The famed Russian artist said he was “visited by some people who said they want me to paint Trump as I see him.”
“When I started the portrait, I realized this could bring our countries closer, and decided not to charge any money because I suspected what this painting was for,” he said.
CNN reported that Safronov “was contacted by Putin himself, who told him the flattering Trump portrait was an important step in improving Russia’s relationship with the United States.”
