Fox News host Harris Faulkner called out a Democratic guest Monday, asking why the party didn’t unveil “better ideas” on the economy when inflation hit 9% during the Biden administration
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is leading an “anti-oligarchy” tour targeting President Donald Trump and White House senior advisor Elon Musk alongside independent Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont. After calling out several Democrats for cussing in campaign ads, including one who vowed to “unfuck” the country, Faulkner questioned former Democratic National Committee spokesperson Jose Aristimuno about the constant use of the “f-word.”

“Unfortunately, there are some in my party that are desperate and think that by cursing or being the loudest people will listen. No, people listen to intelligent conversations. Our party, and I’ve said this time and time on your show, we need to have a reset, we need to go back to the basics,” Aristimuno told Faulkner. “We need to go back to John F. Kennedy politics about unity, about making sure that we have economic growth and national security.”
“I don’t even think Trump is doing that good of a job,” Aristimuno continued. “I just think the Democrats are doing a really bad one. So, the contrast becomes very, very clear. I do believe, I continue to believe that Democrats have much better ideas when it comes to the economy, but we’re not saying them.”
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) hit a four-decade high of 9% in June 2022, after then-President Joe Biden signed multiple spending initiatives into law, including the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, despite warnings that it could cause inflation to go up. While Biden was in office, prices shot up by over 20%.
“Look, if you had better ideas when inflation was 9% you might have wanted to say them then,” Faulkner said. “Now, it is so far below what it was under Biden, I’m just confused. So why keep the way forward a secret now? I’m curious to know.”
The CPI rose by 2.4% year-over-year in March, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
