“Donald Trump needs to pull back. He needs to stand down…We need to push back.” — Gov. Gavin Newsom (D, CA)
“[M]ass deportation…would be devastating for our economy. There are millions of people who are running our small businesses, going to our schools.” — Mayor Michelle Wu (D, Boston)
“Our vegetables would rot in the ground if they weren’t being picked by many illegal immigrants.” — Rep. Jerry Nadler (D, NY)
“Guess who is working the farms so that you can afford your food? So that you can have food.” — Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D, TX)
Here they go again. Democrats, the party of American slavery, who waged war with the Union to save their “peculiar institution” (the soft euphemism coined by white Southerners in the 1830s), are re-upping vile rebellion in states, cities, and counties across America.
The New Confederacy – an alliance of rebel blue states – is at war with the federal government to protect their latest peculiar institution, illegal immigration. They have declared themselves a “sanctuary” for illegal immigration – whose byproducts are human trafficking, child sexual exploitation, drug running, and national security threats from terrorism, bio-warfare, and espionage.
The reasons these rebel states defend illegal immigration at all costs parallel their arguments underpinning their failed attempt to retain slavery. Their political party and their elites derive economic and political power from it: economic power based on agriculture and manual labor, and political power based on an entire class of human beings dependent on them for sustenance.
Eleven states were in open rebellion against the federal government at the beginning of the Civil War. Today there are twelve states in open rebellion – led by California. Colorado and Connecticut are part of the confederacy. Illinois, where Abraham Lincoln’s remains rest, has become a rebel state, along with Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.
Interestingly, none of the original seditious states that rebelled against the Union are involved in this current day rebellion, although individual cities in some of them have declared themselves in opposition to and unbound by federal law. (The Center for Immigration Studies has published a full list of America’s Sanctuary cities and counties.) And now, as then, a Republican president standing in their way is the focus of their derision and abject hatred.
New Confederacy Democrats tell you exactly why they want illegal immigration left unchecked. For decades they have opined we need illegal immigrants to “do the jobs Americans don’t want to do” – in other words, we need them to do the dirty work.
During a 2024 congressional hearing, Representative Jerry Nadler from the rebel sanctuary state of New York said: “We need immigrants in this country. Forget the fact that our vegetables would rot in the ground if they weren’t being picked by many immigrants — many illegal immigrants.”

Nadler went on to say that “the birth rate in this country is way below replacement level, which means our population is going to start shrinking. And the ratio of people on Social Security and Medicare is going to increase relative to the number of people supporting them.” Only illegal immigrants can carry the load of Granny and Gramps, apparently.
In March, Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett spoke at the South By Southwest festival. She asked her audience, “How many of you are sending your kids to college to go and work on the farms?” When none responded affirmatively, she said, “Okay, so guess who is working the farms so that you can afford your food? So that you can have food.”
Crockett then suggested that illegal immigrants are “the help” that keep the service industry humming. “Now, how many of you are looking to send your kids into hospitality after this college education so that they can go and make the beds at the hotels?” she asked, assuming her audience turned up their noses as she obviously does.
A November 2024 NPR story warned President-elect Trump’s plans to deport “undocumented immigrants has sparked concerns [among Texans] who say mass deportations could upend some of the state’s major industries that rely on undocumented labor, chief among them the booming construction industry.”
Sounds familiar. To try to justify the institution of slavery, Southern Democrats argued that the cotton and other agricultural industries’ profitability depended on keeping that unpaid workforce intact. Because slaves were forced to do the work no one would do for nothing.
The wealth and political fortunes of the original Confederacy was directly tied to keeping slavery as the status quo, just as the fortunes of the New Confederacy and much of their political power is now dependent on keeping illegal immigrants as a status quo population.
Yvette Clarke, Democrat Congresswoman from the New Confederacy rebel state of New York, admitted the truth three years ago when speaking of illegal immigration: “When I hear colleagues talk about, you know, the doors of the inn being closed – ah, no room at the inn – I’m saying I need more people in my district just for redistricting purposes,” adding that illegal immigrants “could clearly fit here.”
But perhaps the most telling and honest explanation came from a progressive member of Congress from the New Confederate rebel state of Vermont. Democrat Representative Becca Balint, who has referred to herself as “a scrappy little dyke,” told a town hall meeting on May 28: “We know our economy is completely bound up in immigration and migrant labor.” Calling it an “existential issue for the country,” Democrat Balint warned her audience that without illegal immigrants, “we’re not going to have anybody to wipe our asses.”

Add to that disgusting arrogance is the disgusting corruption. As doge has confirmed, many ngos that are built around the institution of illegal immigration have become massive slush funds for fraud, waste and abuse. Taxpayers, of course foot the bill.
The New Confederacy – Rebel Democrats’ states, cities, and counties – have a vested interest in keeping illegal immigration in place. They defy the federal government passionately and openly. They want lawlessness to continue at all costs – to the point of a mass invasion of at least 11 million illegal immigrants during Biden’s term.
Democrat Rebel States are openly defiant, following in the footsteps of Governor George Wallace (ridiculously identified as “Republican Governor” by the Washington Post in June). Democrat Wallace stood in an Alabama schoolhouse door to defy efforts to enforce federal law on integration and famously declared: “Segregation now – segregation forever!”

Today Democrats are snarling to whoever will listen: “Illegal immigration now – illegal immigration forever!”
A federal response is long overdue. And it has begun.
