NEW YORK, NY – Donald Trump, Jr., a true son of New York City with deep roots in its vibrant real estate scene, recently shared his grave concerns with Fox News Digital regarding the potential election of socialist Zohran Mamdani as the city’s next mayor. His message is a stark warning for the future of America’s greatest city.
“If what could tragically happen in November comes to pass, it’s terrifying. Yet, perhaps New York needs this harsh lesson,” the President’s son powerfully stated to Fox News Digital in New York City on Wednesday. “Maybe it must collapse to truly rebuild, to finally drive a stake through the heart of these failed ideologies that have brought ruin across the globe time and again.”
Trump Jr., fresh from ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange for the IPO of his latest venture, “GrabAGun,” told Fox News Digital that he foresees a monumental flight from New York City to Florida should Mamdani seize the mayoral office.
“In New York, I recall a statistic from about a decade ago: roughly 18,000 individuals contribute 80% of New York City’s tax revenue,” Trump Jr. explained. “These are highly mobile citizens. They can relocate anywhere they choose. This potential new mayor could inadvertently become Florida’s most effective marketing campaign ever.”
Trump continued, “But what then becomes of New York? As a lifelong New Yorker, someone who grew up here, who helped shape this city’s skyline alongside my father for years before his entry into politics, this prospect is deeply unsettling. However, it might be precisely what America needs. Sometimes, you must hit rock bottom. And I believe if this communist mayor is elected, rock bottom is precisely where New York is headed.”
Omeed Malik, founder and President of 1789 Capital, and Trump Jr.’s partner in the Grab-A-Gun special purpose acquisition merger, echoed these sentiments to Fox News Digital, asserting that Mamdani is merely a “younger iteration” of New York City’s disastrous former progressive mayor, Bill de Blasio.
“If you couldn’t see the writing on the wall with de Blasio, I don’t know what to tell you,” Malik declared. “And frankly, we don’t want those people in Florida, because if you haven’t already left New York, your political compass is clearly broken.”
Mamdani burst onto the national political stage last month, securing the Democratic Primary for New York City mayor despite openly embracing the label of “Democratic socialist.” His platform is a dangerous cocktail of calls to defund the police, anti-Israel rhetoric, and destructive socialist economic principles.
Mirroring his son’s grave concerns, President Trump himself previously labeled Mamdani a “communist” this month, issuing a dire warning that New York City will “never be the same” if he triumphs in November.
“I’m not getting involved, but I can tell you this: I used to say we would never be a socialist country,” Trump stated. “Right. Well, I’ll say it again. We are not going to have — if a communist gets elected to run New York, it can never be the same.”
