“Every time we pick up our phones, we see images of families that just look too perfect,” the former first lady lamented in an interview with Parents magazine for its Next Gen Awards issue released Tuesday.
“It makes you think everyone is doing better than you,” stated Obama, mother to 27-year-old Malia and 24-year-old Sasha, shared with former President Obama.
“And that’s just not reflective of reality,” she conceded.
“It’s so easy for us to curl up into this protective instinct and not talk about the messy or more complicated bits of our lives,” Obama, who recently launched her “IMO” podcast with her brother, Craig Robinson, in March, told the magazine.
“It can feel dangerous to expose those imperfect parts of ourselves. But over the years, I have learned that it’s really the opposite,” she revealed.
The “Becoming” author offered some generic words of encouragement for parents, advising, “Each of us has our own style when it comes to raising kids.”
“So if you’re doing something different than your friends and neighbors, that’s OK,” Obama, 61, remarked.
“Just like our kids, we’re going to have times where we succeed and times when we fail. That’s a part of the journey. We have to recognize that, and give ourselves — and each other — a little grace along the way,” she concluded.
“When we realize that and learn each other’s stories, it makes living life, as well as raising kids, so much easier.”
Speaking of “messy” and “complicated” realities, her husband, former President Barack Obama finds himself at the center of a firestorm. President Trump wasted no time in calling him out.
“The witch hunt that you should be talking about is they caught President Obama absolutely cold,” Trump declared, masterfully redirecting an Epstein question from a reporter during Tuesday afternoon’s presser. “Tulsi Gabbard. What they did to this country in 2016, starting in 2016. But going up, all the way going up to 2020 in the election, they tried to rig the election and they got caught. And there should be very severe consequences for that,” Trump asserted, leaving no doubt about the gravity of the situation. He continued:
You know, when we caught Hillary Clinton, I said, “You know what? Let’s not go too far here. It’s the ex-wife of a president,” and I thought it was sort of terrible. And I let her off the hook, and I’m very happy I did. But it’s time to start after what they did to me and whether it’s right or wrong, it’s time to go after people.
Obama’s been caught directly. So people say, “Oh, you know, a group.” It’s not a group, it is Obama. His orders are on the paper. The papers are signed. The papers came right out of their office. They sent everything to be highly classified. Well, the highly classified has been released. And what they did in 2016 and in 2020 is very criminal. It’s criminal at the highest level. So that’s really the things you should be talking about. I know nothing about the other, but I think it’s appropriate that they do go.
Predictably, CNN legal analyst Elliott Williams, a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs at the Department of Justice, quickly moved to dismiss President Donald Trump’s grave “treason” accusations against former President Barack Obama. Williams, a fixture on the network, assured viewers that “no one is getting charged,” echoing the familiar refrain from the establishment media.
Williams joined CNN’s Jim Sciutto and Brianna Keilar on Tuesday, shortly after Trump forcefully stated from the White House that Obama is guilty of “treason.”
The president’s accusation is rooted in declassified documents and mounting evidence suggesting a politically motivated probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. These revelations, which have fueled accusations of a “treasonous conspiracy” by some, claim the investigation was based on fraudulent evidence and designed solely to undermine President Trump. Tulsi Gabbardhowever, have attempted to discredit these claims, while reports have indicated criminal referrals related to Obama-era officials.
Despite Sciutto acknowledging that intelligence agencies did back the accusation that Russia was behind disinformation efforts (though conveniently not directly tied to Trump), Williams quickly pivoted, arguing that intelligence reports are far from a stable basis to build a case. A convenient argument when it suits the narrative.
He pontificated:
There is not a serious case here for treason or sedition or whatever else. You know, Jim, from your long work oversees that intelligence estimates or intelligence assessments are sometimes ambiguous. There are different opinions that can be made about them, but merely disagreeing with one of the findings of one, or what’s drawn from one, is not treason, which is the act of, number one, seeking to overthrow a government, or number two, seeking to kill a sovereign of a nation. It’s just silly. Now, can it be a hassle and a pain in ass to the person who’s investigated, who’s got to hire a lawyer and go through all the motions? Sure. But this is not a an investigation would be grounded in any reality.
Williams then condescendingly labeled Trump’s use of the term “treason” an act of “public misinformation” and “bad civics” for the population, implying the average American is too dim to grasp “hard legal questions.”
“More than anything else, it’s bad civics for the population that just doesn’t understand these very hard legal questions,” he lectured.
The legal analyst, in a desperate attempt to downplay the severity, argued he cannot see Obama actually being charged, claiming prosecutors would have a difficult time proving intent.
“You still have to get to probable cause, which is that it is more likely than not that a crime was committed. It is not more likely than not that Barack Obama committed treason,” Williams asserted, seemingly speaking for the entire justice system. “You don’t have to like the president. You don’t need to have voted for him. But let’s be serious here about what the claims are. So no, no one’s getting charged here for this.”

BOH gets pegged regularly, I’m sure
Michelle Obama is an entitled cow. She hates this country but will take all she can get. 😡
