Pete Buttigieg wasted $80 billion on woke agendas while America’s sky safety deteriorated

by

As whispers grow louder about former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s potential 2028 presidential ambitions, a stark reality emerges from his tenure at the Department of Transportation (DOT): a radical prioritization of ideological ‘equity’ initiatives that seemingly came at the direct expense of America’s vital infrastructure and air travel safety. Insiders and federal spending records paint a troubling picture of a department hijacked by the Biden-Harris administration’s progressive agenda, diverting critical resources from tangible improvements that directly impact the lives of hardworking Americans.

Under Buttigieg’s leadership, the DOT reportedly funneled an astounding $80 billion into a Biden-era ‘equity’ program over just four years, as confirmed by the administration’s own press release. This colossal sum, desperately needed for modernizing our nation’s crumbling roads, bridges, and air traffic control systems, was instead poured into a program steeped in divisive identity politics.

Dubbed ‘Justice40,’ this initiative was designed to redirect 40 percent of all DOT grant funding to what it vaguely termed ‘disadvantaged communities that are marginalized by underinvestment and overburdened by pollution’ – a classic example of the left’s social engineering masquerading as policy. Shockingly, Buttigieg didn’t just meet this quota; he dramatically exceeded it, funneling a staggering 55 percent of DOT funding into this ideologically driven program, all in the name of ‘advancing equitable outcomes’ – a euphemism for radical social redistribution.

Created by the Biden-Harris Administration, Justice40 is an opportunity to address gaps in transportation infrastructure by establishing the goal that 40 percent of the benefits from grants, programs, and initiatives flow to communities left out of previous funding opportunities, including urban, rural, and Tribal communities. USDOT integrated this goal into 40 funding programs totaling approximately $150 billion in contract authority. Under Secretary Buttigieg’s leadership, USDOT exceeded the 40 percent goal, with 55 percent of the benefits reaching the communities most in need.

The critical question remains: did Buttigieg prioritize this ‘equity’ agenda over the fundamental responsibility of ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable travel for all Americans? The evidence suggests a resounding yes, with dire consequences for the flying public.

Disturbingly, during a pivotal meeting, when industry executives proposed vital upgrades to our nation’s crumbling air traffic control capabilities, this Democrat astonishingly rejected the idea. His rationale? It would allow airlines to fly more planes – a baffling stance that defies common sense and prioritizes an anti-growth agenda over national interest.

The flying public paid the price. While Buttigieg often blamed airlines for delays, the reality of a chronically understaffed FAA, operating at only around 80% of its target for certified professional controllers, became increasingly apparent. This neglect culminated in the nationwide grounding of flights in January 2023 due to an FAA system outage – a crisis not seen since 9/11. Air industry trade associations have warned that at the current rate of hiring, it could take as long as 90 years for the FAA to reach targeted staffing levels in some critical centers.

Meanwhile, the department’s focus shifted dramatically. A review of federal spending between 2021 and 2024 reveals roughly 400 DEI-related grants approved under Buttigieg, a stark contrast to the mere 60 such grants approved during the previous administration, totaling only a few billion dollars. This ideological pivot is further exemplified by the Biden administration’s broader ‘equity’ efforts, such as the $5 billion initiative to build 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations, which by June 2024 had resulted in a paltry a DEI agenda being built – a monumental failure of taxpayer dollars.

Buttigieg’s spokesman, Chris Meagher, attempted to deflect criticism, claiming DEI grants didn’t delay FAA work and that the FAA operates separately. However, this ‘walk and chew gum’ defense rings hollow when core responsibilities are neglected in favor of a politically driven agenda. Buttigieg’s frequent public lashing out at airlines, blaming them for ‘junk fees’ and delays, further highlights a pattern of deflecting responsibility from his department’s own failures.

Just 12 days before a critical election, Buttigieg’s DOT moved to implement a federal rule giving passengers compensation for every delay and cancellation of up to $1,000, even if higher than the original fare. This last-minute move was widely seen as a political stunt, further underscoring the administration’s focus on optics over substance.

The legacy of Pete Buttigieg’s DOT tenure appears to be one of ideological capture, where billions of taxpayer dollars were diverted to ‘woke’ initiatives while critical infrastructure languished, leaving American travelers to bear the brunt of a system in decline.

  1. Yet this MORON thinks he’s qualified to be POTUS??
It’s an opening line in his STAND UP COMEDY ROUTINE!!

  2. Anyone that has had to fly lately realizes the total disaster the industry has been thrown into. The delays, the cancellations, the total mess that the poor airline employees have to deal with, unhappy customers is probably only the tip of the iceberg.

  5. Don’t forget those racist streets Buttfudge was fixing! Oh, and all the time he spent home helping his partner chestfeed their adopted daughter! There’s another child that will have severe mental problems. Probably a future shooter.
