In a fiery appearance on Fox News, former NFL defensive back and conservative advocate Jack Brewer made headlines for championing a return to traditional discipline in America’s schools—including the reintroduction of corporal punishment. Naturally, the liberal media “pounced” with headlines like this from Mediaite, “Fox News Guest Advocates Beating Children in Schools: ‘We Gotta Get the Paddle Back.”
Nice try, guys.
Brewer’s remarks come amid rising concerns about juvenile crime in Washington, D.C., and growing frustration among conservatives over the cultural and moral decay they believe is gripping the country.
Brewer, who has become an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump and his tough-on-crime policies, voiced full-throated approval of Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard to D.C. in response to increasing lawlessness. According to Brewer, the root of the problem lies not only in the streets, but within the crumbling structure of the American family.
“These parents need to be held accountable,” Brewer said plainly. “Every single one of these kids that’s out there terrorizing the streets has a parent that needs to be held accountable. Enough is enough. We gotta fix the family in this nation.”
His comments echoed a growing sentiment among conservatives who argue that decades of progressive social policies have eroded the traditional values that once held families—and communities—together. Brewer, who runs the Jack Brewer Foundation, an organization working with at-risk youth, stressed that cultural decay is just as much to blame as policy failures.
When Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy pressed him on what solutions could work in communities where family structures are already broken—often with fathers incarcerated or absent—Brewer didn’t hesitate.
“It starts locally,” he replied. “First off, in these schools, these schools have to start back disciplining kids. They took the paddle out of the school, and everything collapsed. We gotta get the paddle back, Rachel.”
He didn’t mince words. “Corporal punishment is the only way when you have a knucklehead kid that’s willing to rob you or me at gunpoint with a car full of kids or anyone else,” Brewer added.
According to Brewer, states like Florida—where citizens are more likely to be armed and defend themselves—don’t see the same levels of youth lawlessness. “These things don’t happen in states like Florida. You know why? Because if you carjack me, I’m liable to shoot you, no matter what your age is.”
Beyond policy and enforcement, Brewer pointed to culture and faith as major factors in America’s youth crisis. He lamented the loss of religious values and the removal of God from public education.
“None of these kids go to church on Sunday morning,” he said. “These kids don’t have a fear of God. These kids don’t think about heaven and hell. And that’s the problem in our nation. We’ve let these liberals go so deep into removing God from schools, now these kids don’t have spirituality.”
Brewer made waves in 2022 when he publicly broke ties with the Democratic Party and backed Donald Trump.
“It really came down to morality for me,” he explained at the time.

No paddle is needed and should never be used on children. What children need is LOVING and tough parents – PARENTS – TWO OF THEM – MOM and DAD who raise their children to be mannered and kind and SMART and who make it clear that certain behavior will not be tolerated and then the parents LIVE THAT THEMSELVES.
KIDS need loving homes and PARENTS who behave the way ADUTS should and who provide a peaceful caring home for their children and also teach them to stand up to BULLIES and not be one!
