A Department of Justice employee was caught on video launching a bizarre and unprovoked assault on a federal agent—using nothing less than a Subway sandwich. The man behind the camera, a sharp-eyed D.C. resident, is now speaking out about the chaotic incident that unfolded right in front of him.
Cortez Dargin, 28, witnessed the strange and unsettling episode as it happened in Washington, D.C. According to Dargin, the scene quickly escalated from a loud disturbance to an outright assault — one that involved what appeared to be a drunken rant, anti-government slurs, and finally, a footlong sandwich flung like a missile.
“In the beginning, there was a bunch of ruckus. I seen this guy walk across the street saying ‘these guys are fascists’ and everything,” Dargin told the New York Post. “Then he was trying to get our attention. Like he came directly towards us.”
The man responsible for this deranged behavior was later identified as Sean Charles Dunn, 37 — a Department of Justice employee who, according to multiple reports, was promptly terminated after the incident. Notably, Dunn was a Biden administration appointee, raising new questions about the hiring standards and vetting processes within federal agencies under his administration.
Dargin recalled that Dunn appeared intoxicated and agitated from the start. “He asked me, ‘What car did the feds pull up in?’ and I said ‘I dunno,’” Dargin said. “He goes up to the car and I thought he was gonna do something to the car.”
What happened next is as comical as it is disturbing — Dunn, apparently frustrated by the lack of attention, took a Subway sandwich and hurled it directly at one of the agents.
“It was mostly for him because, like, ‘You were really drunk. When you see this video, when you sober up, you’re gonna be like whoa,’” Dargin remarked, describing his motivation for filming the incident.
Though the sandwich did not cause any physical harm, the symbolism of a federal employee — particularly a DOJ appointee — attacking law enforcement, even in such a ridiculous way, should not be dismissed. Some of the agents reportedly laughed off the pathetic attempt, especially considering it was the new recruits’ first day on the job.
“They were learning the area and this is like your first day of training and you get a sandwich thrown at you,” Dargin said with disbelief.
After the footlong failed to make a serious impact, Dunn reportedly fled the scene in dramatic fashion. “He ran down the street and he like cut it behind some buildings and disappeared,” Dargin added. “The craziest thing to me was the posture — the whole body movement — I’ve never seen nobody move like that. He moved like a little lizard or something.”
This is more than just a bizarre footnote — it’s another example of the embarrassing incompetence that seems to follow Biden’s leftover appointments. Americans deserve a Department of Justice that takes the law seriously — not individuals who turn deli meat into projectiles during anti-federal tirades.
It’s time to ask the hard questions: How did someone like Sean Dunn pass a background check? And how many more unqualified ideologues are embedded in our federal institutions under previous administrations?
