Trump FBI raids John Bolton’s home while he’s in it

by

In a dramatic early-morning operation on August 22, 2025, the FBI executed a raid on the Bethesda, Maryland home of former National Security Advisor John Bolton. The bureau confirmed the action, which took place at 7:00 a.m., while Bolton was reportedly present inside the residence.

According to an FBI spokesperson, the search was related to an ongoing investigation into Bolton’s alleged mishandling of classified documents. While details remain limited, insiders suggest this probe was initially opened during President Trump’s first term but was mysteriously shelved under the Biden administration—raising immediate questions about political interference and selective enforcement.

A senior U.S. official, speaking to the New York Post, confirmed that the case had indeed been stalled during Biden’s tenure for “political reasons.” This only adds fuel to the argument that the Justice Department has been operating with a clear political bias, especially when it comes to those seen as opponents of the Democrat establishment.

FBI Director Kash Patel, a longtime Trump ally and a staunch advocate for rooting out corruption in federal agencies, posted to X during the raid: “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission.” The statement underscores the Trump administration’s renewed push to hold former officials accountable for past actions that may have put national security at risk.

Bolton, who served as National Security Advisor under President Trump from April 2018 to September 2019, has been a vocal critic of the 45th—and now 47th—President since his departure from the White House. His frequent television appearances and sharp criticisms of Trump’s America First foreign policy have made him a darling of the mainstream media and an enemy of the conservative base that propelled Trump back into the Oval Office.

Adding to the tension, Bolton’s security clearance was officially revoked by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard shortly after Trump’s inauguration in January 2025. This move was part of a broader executive order issued on Day One of the new Trump administration, targeting 51 former intelligence officials who signed a widely criticized 2020 letter that falsely labeled the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation. Among those stripped of clearances, Bolton’s name stood out due to his high-profile fallout with Trump and his controversial memoir.

That memoir, The Room Where It Happened, published in June 2020, painted a less-than-flattering picture of Trump’s presidency. The Trump administration had attempted to block its release, arguing that Bolton violated a nondisclosure agreement and endangered national security by including sensitive, potentially classified information. The Justice Department under Trump’s first term even opened an investigation into the publication. Yet once Biden took office, that investigation quietly disappeared—until now.

Upon his return to office, Trump cited Bolton’s “reckless treatment of sensitive information” as a direct threat to national security, stating it played a key role in the decision to strip him of access to classified material.

The timing of the raid also raises eyebrows, coming just as Trump reasserts control over a federal bureaucracy long accused of harboring deep state loyalties. With the FBI—now under new leadership—seemingly back on mission to enforce the law fairly and without political favor, the Bolton raid may be just the beginning of a long-overdue reckoning.

Conservatives argue that this is not about revenge, but about restoring trust in government institutions by ensuring that no one, regardless of political stature or media connections, is exempt from the rule of law.
