Trump to create world’s largest US flag for America250 celebration, taller than Empire State Building

by

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald J. Trump is once again making history, this time by leading the charge in the creation of the world’s largest American flag in anticipation of the nation’s 250th birthday in 2026. In an exclusive report from Fox News Digital, it has been confirmed that the flag—crafted as part of the America250 initiative—will span a staggering 776 feet in width and 1,492 feet in length, totaling over 1.15 million square feet. This patriotic feat will shatter world records and reignite American pride, one star and stripe at a time.

“Everything President Trump does is historic and larger than life,” said America250 Executive Director Ari Abergel. “America250 will be no different, and we’re kicking things off by breaking a massive world record—creating the world’s largest American flag.”

The massive flag will dwarf previous records, surpassing Qatar’s 2013 draped flag, which measured just over 1 million square feet, and easily outdoing Azerbaijan’s 2024 record for largest flown flag at 25,598 square feet. Trump’s flag will fly the banner of unapologetic American greatness at over 1.15 million square feet—all Made in the USA.

Due to its sheer size, the National Mall in Washington, D.C. is too small to accommodate the display. Organizers are eyeing several powerful symbolic venues: Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, a NASCAR speedway, or even Lebanon, Kansas—the geographical heart of the country.

The unveiling is expected to take place in the spring of 2026 as part of a larger semiquincentennial celebration, marking 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. Trump’s leadership of this momentous occasion is turning heads and setting the tone for a patriotic resurgence heading into 2026.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, the national mood is bright and optimistic,” said U.S. Chief of Protocol and America250 Principal Media Representative Monica Crowley. “There could be no better time to throw our country a spectacular birthday party, including unfurling the largest American flag in history.”

Crowley emphasized that the America250 initiative aims to activate a series of events from now until 2026 designed to inspire patriotism and pride across generations. Among the highlights are tributes to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, with celebrations lined up for October and November of 2025.

But as expected, a Trump-led patriotic initiative isn’t without its political flare-ups. The America250 Commission drew criticism recently after Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer appointed Jack Schlossberg—grandson of President John F. Kennedy and a staunch Democrat activist—to a seat on the commission. Critics say the move is an attempt to politicize what should be a unifying national moment.

Abergel was clear about who’s really steering the ship: “At the end of the day, America250 will be remembered as President Trump’s celebration—nobody else’s. And the President is the only reason why it will be a success.”

While the left is busy arguing over commission appointments and cultural grievances, Trump is once again focused on doing what he does best: making America proud—loudly, boldly, and without apology. The upcoming flag unveiling isn’t just about size—it’s about symbolism. In a time when patriotism is often under attack, Trump’s America250 reminds the world that America still stands tall—and now, it flies the biggest flag ever made.
