Patel reveals slew of shocking new details on Charlie Kirk killer, including suspect’s text message confessing intent, much more

by

Washington, D.C. – In a revealing appearance on Fox & Friends, FBI Director Kash Patel disclosed chilling new evidence in the ongoing investigation surrounding the assassination attempt on Turning Point USA founder and conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

The suspect, Tyler Robinson, who was arrested earlier this week, allegedly sent a text message to an associate explicitly stating his intention to assassinate Kirk. According to Patel, the suspect wrote that he had an opportunity to “take out Charlie Kirk” and that he was “going to do it.” The statement was delivered during a live segment with co-hosts Brian Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt, and Lawrence Jones.

“These are factually accurate investigatory findings by the FBI that we have handed over to the local authorities and the federal authorities to make their prosecutorial decisions,” said Patel.

Patel emphasized the legal diligence undertaken by the Bureau in acquiring the evidence, explaining that all information had been lawfully obtained through search warrants to preserve admissibility in court. The disturbing text exchange was recovered from the suspect’s phone, which had been seized and analyzed by the FBI’s forensic task force.

“He had a text message exchange… in which he claimed that he had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do it because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for.” — Kash Patel, FBI Director

The evidence doesn’t stop at text messages. Patel confirmed the FBI successfully extracted additional digital evidence from the suspect’s phone and tower data. The bureau was able to track the suspect’s movements and communication history through cellphone towers in the area, linking him to the scene and further substantiating motive and opportunity.

Additionally, the FBI recovered DNA evidence that places Robinson at the scene. A towel used to wrap the rifle and a screwdriver found on a nearby rooftop both matched the suspect’s DNA. While the rifle itself is still undergoing ballistics processing by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), investigators are confident in the trajectory of the case.

In what may be the most telling part of the investigation, Patel noted that the suspect’s family described Robinson as someone who had increasingly subscribed to far-left ideologies in recent years. This ideological motivation, while not formally stated as a legal motive by the FBI, forms a disturbing pattern in politically motivated violence.

“His family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology, and even more so in these last couple of years,” said Patel.

Although the FBI does not officially comment on motive, the director stood firm in stating that transparency is crucial in this case.

“I believe in this instance of such public importance, the public has a right to know,” Patel declared. “And I have told you I’m committed to transparency. And that’s what I’m doing here.”

During the interview, co-host Ainsley Earhardt raised an important question: Why didn’t the person who received the text warning about Kirk’s possible murder come forward?

Patel acknowledged that the investigation is still ongoing and that law enforcement has not yet received a satisfactory answer. “That’s a great question,” he said, “and we don’t have an answer on that just yet.”

However, it is clear the FBI is treating the matter with utmost seriousness, and more arrests or charges could follow as they sift through what Patel described as “scores” of individuals involved in the same online Discord chat groups as the suspect.

The case has already ignited conservative circles, with growing calls for the Department of Justice to acknowledge politically motivated violence against right-leaning figures. Charlie Kirk, a vocal advocate for free speech and limited government, has often been a target of leftist ire, but this escalation into potential political assassination has alarmed many.
