In recent days, the FBI has launched a probe into social media activity that suggests some individuals may have exhibited foreknowledge of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Posts—now deleted—are under scrutiny amid reports that multiple people appeared to hint at or even cheer for Kirk’s killing before it occurred.

According to FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, there were “multiple warning signs” in the lead‐up to Charlie Kirk’s death. He said that friends, family, and even coworkers reported behavioral changes in the suspect, Tyler Robinson, including that he was becoming more political, that “he’d become more political … co‑workers had stated that he had kinda detached himself when the topic of politics came up and walked away from them.”\3

FBI Director Kash Patel has additionally stated that Robinson sent a text message and drafted a now‑destroyed note in which he indicated he had “an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk” — a chance he intended to use.

Forensic evidence ties Robinson to the crime scene. His DNA reportedly matched samples found on a towel wrapped around the firearm and on a screwdriver at the sniper’s vantage point.

Authorities are also investigating whether Robinson was part of a larger network, or whether others knew about his plot and failed to report it. Bongino remarked that they are exploring “whether anyone was aware of Robinson’s intentions and didn’t alert authorities,” and whether some communications in online chats might have hinted at what was coming.

While many details remain under investigation, media reports have described a number of social media posts that reportedly hinted at the September 10 date of Kirk’s death before it happened. Some examples:

• A post that read: “itd be funny if someone like charlie kirk got shot on september 10th LMAO.”

• Another said simply: “september 10th will be a very interesting day.”

• One user self‑described as “nonbinary” allegedly posted: “Charlie kirk is coming to my college tomorrow [I really] hope someone evaporates him literally … Lets just say something big will happen tomorrow.”

• Another, believed to be transgender, allegedly posted: “charles james kirk. mr college dropout does NOT know what’s coming tomorrow. be ready…this isn’t a threat it’s a promise.”

Some of these accounts are said to belong to transgender individuals; at least one reportedly followed the roommate of Tyler Robinson.

However, it has not been established that these individuals conspired with Robinson or had direct involvement in planning the attack. Investigators have retrieved archived copies of these posts and preserved screenshots.
