Tom Homan fights back: MSNBC’s $50K bribery bombshell crumbles under scrutiny

by

Tom Homan, ICE Director border advisor to President Trump, pushed back forcefully Monday night against a report from MSNBC alleging he accepted a $50,000 cash bribe from an undercover FBI agent. The Department of Justice has already concluded there was no criminal wrongdoing—yet left-wing media outlets are running with the story anyway.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham gave Homan a platform to respond directly to the accusations during her primetime show, calling out the timing and source of the report.

“Tom, I wanna give you a chance to address this article that came out over the weekend,” said Ingraham. “It was on our always reliable MSNBC and they said that you took $50,000 in cash in a bag from an undercover FBI agent to help them win government contracts in Trump’s second term.”

Ingraham noted that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had explicitly stated there was no evidence of any criminal conduct.

Homan didn’t mince words in his response: “Look, I did nothing criminal. I did nothing illegal. It’s hit piece after hit piece after hit piece. And I’m glad the FBI and DOJ came out and said that nothing illegal happened.”

The 34-year law enforcement veteran painted the smear campaign as part of a broader pattern of harassment faced by those aligned with President Trump.

“I left a successful private business to come back and serve my country,” Homan said, visibly frustrated. “I’ve taken more death threats than most people in this town. I have a security detail—but my wife and kids don’t. I haven’t lived with my wife in months for her safety. And after all these sacrifices, this is what I get? Another baseless attack.”

Homan vowed to remain undeterred: “They can keep coming after me every two weeks with their hit pieces, but I’m not going anywhere. Working with President Trump is the greatest honor of my life. We’re making this country safer every day.”

The MSNBC report claimed Homan was recorded by FBI agents accepting $50,000 in cash during a meeting in Texas on September 20, 2024. The network alleged that the plan was to entrap Homan into promising government contracts under a potential Trump administration. Yet, as sources confirmed, the DOJ under Trump re-evaluated the case and found no grounds for criminal charges.

NBC reporter Ken Dilanian noted Homan’s “non-denial” in a post on X, conveniently ignoring the DOJ’s own conclusion that no laws were broken.

The White House fired back hard on Monday, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shutting down a loaded question from a reporter during the daily briefing.

“Well, Mr. Homan never took the $50,000 that you’re referring to, so you should get your facts straight, number one,” Leavitt said. “This is just another example of the Biden DOJ’s weaponization of federal law enforcement against Trump’s strongest allies.”

Leavitt also pointed out that multiple prosecutors and agents reviewed the case thoroughly and closed it due to lack of evidence. She reaffirmed President Trump’s full support for Homan, calling him “a brave public servant who has done a phenomenal job helping the president shut down the border.”

The real story here isn’t about cash in a bag—it’s about the continued use of federal agencies to target and undermine conservative voices, especially those close to Trump. Despite the media’s desperate spin, Homan’s record of service and commitment to border security stands firm.

MSNBC, for its part, says it stands by its reporting, despite no legal action being taken and the investigation officially closed.

  1. More of the democrat’s lies. Maybe, when the democrats get beat in the upcoming mid terms, they’ll wake up. Not gonna hold my breath.
