That’s a blatant lie! Megyn Kelly on FIRE at TPUSA event as smug student tries to blame Trump for Charlie’s death

by

A Turning Point USA event turned fiery Wednesday night after a student accused President Donald Trump of fueling the rhetoric that led to the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk — a claim Megyn Kelly swiftly dismantled ( WATCH VIDEO BELOW).

During a debate hosted by TPUSA just weeks after Kirk’s tragic assassination at Utah Valley University, one student stunned the crowd by confronting Kelly with an inflammatory question:

“I want to know why you support a president who contributes to the rhetoric that got your friend Charlie killed,” the student said. “You saw his rally recently — he said, ‘I hate my enemies.’ Stephen Miller said similar things. How can you support him when he contributed to what got Charlie killed?”

Kelly, visibly taken aback, responded without hesitation:

“What you said is not true.”

The student then doubled down, yelling:

“70% of political violence is committed by Republicans! Look it up! DOJ just pulled it! The DOJ just pulled it from their website!”

That’s when Kelly hit back hard.

“First of all, let me take on the first premise of your question, that it was President Trump’s rhetoric that led to an assassin killing our friend Charlie Kirk. That’s a blatant lie,” she said. “It’s defamatory, and it’s inappropriate in this setting.”

The exchange escalated as the student attempted to walk back his accusation, claiming he only meant Trump had “contributed to the political atmosphere.”

“Well, then you have no point,” Kelly fired back. “Contributing to the atmosphere? No. Let’s just make clear: This guy was motivated by leftist ideology. We know it from the bullet casings, we know it from the Utah governor, we know it from his own mother. Yes, we do! Let’s be really clear on that.”

The student then pivoted again, suggesting that even if the killer leaned left, Trump still incited violence:

“Let’s say this guy’s a leftist, even if that’s true, does that make it okay for the sitting president of the United States to incite violence against liberals?”

Kelly didn’t let it slide.

“The president of the United States has not incited violence against liberals. He made a joke at the Charlie Kirk memorial that was funny and self-deprecating,” she said, referencing the former president’s remarks following Erika Kirk’s powerful act of public forgiveness.

“And by the way,” Kelly continued, “Trump has every right to loathe his enemies. They tried to put him in jail for the rest of his life.”

The student, clearly out of his depth, responded, “Rightfully so! He’s a criminal!”

After Kelly invited him to continue making his case, the student abruptly ended the confrontation with a curt, “Thanks for your time,” and walked off stage.

The event was held in honor of Charlie Kirk, with Megyn Kelly and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin stepping in to carry forward his message. Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, has vowed that her husband’s mission will continue, with his scheduled college tour moving forward across the country.

Kirk’s death remains a rallying cry for conservatives who see the increasing trend of politically motivated violence against the Right as dangerously underreported and ideologically misrepresented.
