Newsmax has gotten its hands on exclusive dashcam footage that pokes some holes in Alec Baldwin’s latest Hollywood-style version of events — this time, involving a car crash in the Hamptons that he and his brother, fellow actor Stephen Baldwin, were part of on Monday afternoon.

The front-facing video, clocking in at 1 minute and 29 seconds, was recorded from the dashboard of the very commercial truck Baldwin accused of nearly wiping him off the road. But surprise, surprise — the footage doesn’t exactly support the Oscar hopeful’s dramatic retelling.

In the video, the truck calmly exits a parking lot and makes a textbook-legal right turn onto Montauk Highway in East Hampton, New York. About 30 seconds later, Baldwin’s white Range Rover makes its appearance — and then quickly veers off to the shoulder before planting itself into a tree. Hard.

Baldwin, never one to pass up a moment in the spotlight, shared his version on Instagram that same evening. According to the actor, a “garbage truck the size of a whale” cut him off, forcing him to swerve and sacrifice his wife’s luxury SUV to save the day.

“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big fat tree and crushed my car — my wife’s car,” Baldwin declared in his video, giving it all the gravitas of a soap opera monologue.

Unfortunately for Baldwin, the cold, unblinking eye of the dashcam paints a far less theatrical picture. The footage shows no evidence of the truck cutting him off or posing any kind of imminent threat. In fact, the truck had already completed its turn when Baldwin’s Range Rover tried to zip around it — on the right side, no less — before promptly losing control and introducing itself to the nearest tree.

The SUV’s crumpled front end is captured clearly in the aftermath. There’s no truck to blame here — just some questionable driving and perhaps an oversized ego.

Despite the public meltdown, East Hampton Police have kept it simple. No citations have been issued, and the incident is being treated as a standard fender-bender — or in this case, a tree-bender.

Baldwin, 67, admitted he was behind the wheel and said Stephen Baldwin, 59, was riding shotgun. “I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that,” he said. But in the same breath, he reassured his followers that both brothers were okay. “The car’s pretty smashed up, but that’s OK.”

He did manage to offer thanks to local authorities, specifically Officer Gerken from the East Hampton Police Department, whom he called “a lovely guy.”

“Thank you to the East Hampton Police Department,” Baldwin said, adding that they were “as nice as can be, as pleasant as can be about the whole thing.” A rare kind word from Baldwin about law enforcement — noted.

In classic Hollywood fashion, Baldwin ended his update with news of a trip to Los Angeles. “Going out to California to gather my family together,” he said. “Spend a few days out there and then come home.” Maybe take a defensive driving course while you’re at it?

A representative for Stephen Baldwin also confirmed both brothers were fine and appreciated the public concern. “Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured,” the rep said, noting they’re “taking time to rest.”

The crash came on the heels of the Baldwin brothers’ appearance at the Hamptons International Film Festival, where they were promoting their podcast, One Bad Movie. Fitting title, considering Monday’s real-life action scene may have just earned Alec a Razzie.
