Once again, the liberal media has twisted the facts to fuel their anti-law-enforcement narrative. This week, headlines exploded with sensational claims that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents “arrested a baby” during a supposed “raid” at a Home Depot in Los Angeles. Social media activists and left-wing commentators immediately pounced on the story, spreading outrage before verifying a single fact.
According to the viral posts, ICE agents stormed a Home Depot parking lot in unmarked vans, “detained a father,” and “drove off in his car—with his baby still in the back seat.” Some claimed agents even “threw a volleyball” that “hit the child in the head,” while others accused law enforcement of “child abuse” and “breaking into private property.”
None of it was true.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) quickly released both a statement and body-camera footage to dismantle the false claims. What really happened bears no resemblance to the left’s hysterical version of events.
According to DHS, agents were conducting a targeted immigration enforcement operation when a U.S. citizen exited his vehicle armed with a hammer and began throwing rocks at officers—all while his child remained in the car. Officers responded appropriately, arresting the man for assault with a deadly weapon.
During the arrest, a stolen firearm was discovered in the suspect’s vehicle—reported missing out of New York. Authorities also confirmed the man had an active warrant for property damage.
Despite the media spin, DHS made it clear: no child was harmed or detained. The child was safely turned over to responsible parties, and agents on scene acted according to established safety procedures.
The operation didn’t just involve the one suspect. It also resulted in the arrest of five illegal aliens from Mexico and Guatemala, all of whom were violating U.S. immigration law. Several of the individuals had prior criminal records, including driving under the influence, operating a vehicle without a license, and reentering the country after deportation—a felony offense.
Officials emphasized that law enforcement will not apologize for enforcing the law, no matter how loudly political activists demand it. “We will continue to uphold federal immigration statutes and protect our communities,” DHS stated.
This incident is another reminder of how quickly misinformation spreads when it serves a political agenda. Rather than waiting for facts, progressive commentators rushed to paint ICE agents as villains and immigrants as victims, feeding an emotional story that simply didn’t happen.
Americans deserve truth—not propaganda. The men and women of ICE and DHS put their lives on the line daily to uphold the rule of law. Demonizing them for doing their jobs only makes our communities less safe.
