Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro apparently has zero concerns about U.S. warships circling his coastline—because he’s too busy shuffling, shimmying, and accidentally mimicking President Trump’s iconic rally dance moves like he’s auditioning for Dancing With the Despots.
While the Trump administration steps up its hunt for alleged Venezuelan narcotics vessels, Maduro was caught on camera at a student event in Caracas, grooving to a remix of his own peace slogans. Yes, you read that right—his own slogans. Dictator karaoke, but make it socialist.
A viral clip shows him flailing through what suspiciously resembles “the Trump dance”—the light-bulb-changing, side-to-side fist pump that sent media elites into meltdowns during Trump rallies. Maduro’s version? Let’s just say it looked less like confidence and more like a man trying to distract the world from U.S. destroyers off his coast.
But the dance-off didn’t stop there.
Maduro has been on a bizarre musical PR tour, recently blasting John Lennon’s “Imagine” while U.S. Navy ships patrolled nearby. He even urged young Venezuelans to study the lyrics, calling it a “beautiful song” and an “anthem for all eras,” adding, “Long live the eternal memory of that great poet and musician, John Lennon.”
Touching words—if they weren’t coming from a man whose regime has been repeatedly tied to narco-trafficking operations.
Meanwhile, back in the world of adults, the Trump administration has been busy.
As Fox News reported, “On Monday, the State Department formally announced the Cartel de los Soles would be designated as a foreign terrorist organization.” The cartel—run by Venezuelan government and military officials—has long been accused of using the country as a drug-smuggling superhighway.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio didn’t mince words either. He stated that the cartels operating in Venezuela, including the Cartel de los Soles, are “responsible for terrorist violence throughout our hemisphere as well as for trafficking drugs into the United States and Europe.”
So while Rubio and the Trump team take down narco-terror networks, Maduro is out here wiggling for world peace and rebranding himself as the socialist John Lennon.
If only a dance routine could stop a U.S. Navy destroyer.
But hey—at least he nailed the Trump move. Too bad that’s the only American influence he’s copying.
Siempre me he preguntado cómo un tipo tan ridículo puede mantener sometido a todo un pueblo.
