Jesse Watters reveals The Five co-hosts started a Bible study with him after Charlie Kirk tragedy

by

Jesse Watters revealed Tuesday that he, Greg Gutfeld, and Harold Ford Jr. have formed an early-morning bible-study trio — inspired directly by the tragic murder of conservative powerhouse Charlie Kirk. The announcement came as Erika Kirk, widow of the slain Turning Point USA founder, joined The Five to reflect on her husband’s faith and the nationwide spiritual ripple effect following his killing.

Watters, never shy about wearing his convictions on his sleeve, dropped the news with characteristic flair, even referring to himself in the third person.

“Harold, Jesse, and Greg are in a bible study group together, because of Charlie Kirk,” he said, prompting Erika Kirk to react with heartfelt surprise.

“Are they really?” she replied. “Okay, that is really cool.”

Watters went on to describe their new daily ritual — one that seems far more grounded than the Beltway chaos dominating headlines.

“Every morning we wake up and we read a passage, and then we text about it,” he explained. “And it is because of Charlie.”

Erika Kirk told the panel she’s heard from countless Americans who have started buying Bibles, going to church, or returning to church since her husband’s murder in September. According to her, that spiritual revival mirrors Charlie’s own daily habit.

“Charlie, every single day on the way into work, would text people bible verses,” she said. “And he just wanted to remind people this is what it’s all about. It’s about, your life here is so short. So are you going to use your short time here on earth to make this place better or worse?”

She reiterated that her Christian faith has been her anchor — even in the face of unthinkable loss. Appearing at The New York Times Dealbook Conference last week, Erika shared how that faith has helped her not only mourn but also begin the process of forgiving the man accused of murdering her husband.
