Jesse Watters gives up on GOP, predicts they lose the House in midterms

by

Jesse Watters just dropped a political truth bomb on The Five. While Democrats scramble to rebrand themselves as champions of “affordability”—a crisis they helped engineer—Watters threw cold water on GOP hopes for next year’s midterms, bluntly declaring, “You’re gonna lose the House.”

That’s right. One of Fox’s fiercest conservative voices isn’t sugarcoating what’s coming, even as fresh data shows Americans still struggling under the weight of a battered economy. A recent Fox News poll reveals only 36% approve of President Donald Trump’s handling of economic issues—numbers Democrats have seized on while pretending they hold the magic wand to fix inflation. Watters wasn’t buying it for a second.

“They have no credibility at all on any domestic policy,” he fired back. “And it’s fresh in everyone’s head. And they’re running on fixing a problem they created, and they won’t tell you how they’re gonna fix it. They don’t have a plan to lower prices.”

Cue Democratic strategist Jessica Tarlov jumping in with a Hail Mary claim about tariffs being the culprit.

“Repeal tariffs,” she offered.

But Watters swatted that away instantly.

“No one is running on that, Jessica,” he shot back. “Not a single person. You haven’t said it. No one’s talking about revoking the trade deals.”

And he wasn’t finished.

Watters laid out what he believes is the real story of next year: an economic surge powered by slowing inflation, Fed rate cuts, renewed Treasury action, and the impact of Trump’s signature legislation—the so-called “big, beautiful bill.” According to Watters, that bill will hit Americans’ wallets in all the right ways: tax-free tips, overtime, and Social Security income, plus major business tax cuts and a wave of foreign investment fueling new AI hubs.

He painted a booming picture:

“Next year is gonna be insane. We’re gonna have multiple rate cuts. Housing costs are gonna come down. And incomes are gonna go up because the big, beautiful bill kicks in. That means no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security. And that’s when you get all the business tax cuts. Also, that’s when all the foreign investment comes in, and so you’re gonna see these big AI centers sprout up. And next year, they’re projecting next year to be the greatest economic year since the ’80s.”

But even an economic comeback worthy of Reagan, he warned, may not be enough to save the GOP from the political beating Democrats engineered.

“Now, will it be enough to save the Republicans in the midterms? Probably not, but that’s ok. This is a long-term deal. You’re gonna lose the House. You may keep the Senate. I’ll take that.”

Watters then turned his fire back toward Democrats, torching their record on everything from college tuition to healthcare to gas. He reminded viewers that every time Democrats get the keys to power, the country ends up paying the bill.

“And what are you gonna do with power? You’re gonna do nothing, or you’re gonna do the same thing you did last time, which is open the border, spend trillions of dollars, and make prices go up again.”
