Leave it to the Trump family to turn an engagement into a headline-grabbing White House moment.
Donald Trump Jr. is officially off the market, engaged to Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson after a fast-moving romance that began just over a year ago. And in true Trump fashion, the big news broke under the chandeliers of the White House itself.
President Donald Trump revealed the engagement Monday night during a Christmas reception, setting the stage for a family moment that felt equal parts old-school glamour and unapologetic confidence.
After embracing his father, Don Jr. took the microphone, visibly moved.
“I want to thank Bettina for that one word: yes!” he joked.
The president’s eldest son didn’t pretend the proposal was a sure thing.
“When you go down there, it’s like, you’re gonna go, and you’re trying to ask, and you’re not sure what the answer’s gonna be. It’s always a little bit rough. But she said yes, which is a big win for the end of the year.”
The crowd erupted.

Then it was Anderson’s turn.
The 38-year-old Florida socialite, elegant in a red strapless gown, thanked her hosts — and made it clear she understood the significance of where she stood.
“Wow, what a privilege it is to be here at the White House, Mr President, thank you so much for hosting this incredible party, and to our First Lady, these decorations, am I right, aren’t they unbelievable?”
Beaming, she added:
“This has really been the most unforgettable weekend of my life, and I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!”
President Trump sealed the moment with a kiss for his future daughter-in-law and a characteristically Trumpian send-off — two words that drew laughter and applause:
“Good luck.”

The relationship itself was no surprise to insiders.
Don Jr., 47, began dating Anderson in spring 2024. By September, the pair were photographed kissing during an intimate Palm Beach dinner — photos exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com. Sources at the time said their relationship was an “open secret” among Florida’s elite, even before his split from longtime girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle became public.
By early December 2024, they were again spotted enjoying a romantic night out, and by 2025, Bettina Anderson wasn’t just accompanying Don Jr. — she was standing front and center.
The couple appeared together throughout 2025 at high-profile events, including the president’s Super Bowl trip to New Orleans and Trump’s March address to Congress.
Speculation exploded after Anderson took center stage at a formal White House dinner honoring Saudi Arabia.
MAGA insiders didn’t miss a beat.
“Don is in love with Bettina,” one source said. “He is telling friends ‘This is the woman I love.’
‘His dad loves her. They all feel she is classy and has an impeccable fashion sense.
‘Don brought her to the most high-profile White House gala so proudly.’”
She was photographed alongside Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael Boulos — a clear sign she was already being folded into the family.
Anderson isn’t just another socialite.
She was born into one of Palm Beach’s most established banking families, the daughter of Harry Loy Anderson Jr. — known as H. Loy — and his wife Inger, a Swedish immigrant. Her father became president of Worth Avenue National Bank in 1970 and later controlled multiple financial institutions, becoming the banker of choice for Palm Beach’s elite.
Through charity boards and black-tie galas, H. Loy moved in rarefied circles that included publishing heir Peter Pulitzer, whose marriages famously shaped American pop culture.
Bettina’s mother was a model with New York’s Eileen Ford agency and later launched a Jane Fonda-inspired fitness regimen — a classic blend of discipline and style.
The Anderson children — six in total, including Bettina’s twin sister Kristina — were raised with privilege, private schools, and old-fashioned expectations. H. Loy later turned deeply to faith and became an elder in the Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church before his death from Alzheimer’s in 2006.
In short: this is establishment meets establishment.
Don Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018. They share five children and remain on cordial terms — Vanessa even attended a White House reception recently, receiving a public shout-out from President Trump.
From 2018 to 2024, Don Jr. dated Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox News host now serving as the president’s ambassador to Greece.
