Michael Knowles dumbfounded as influencer tells him why Gavin Newsom will beat JD Vance

A young streamer shocked the Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles on Saturday after he argued that Vice President J.D. Vance is “subhuman.”

The streamer, Clavicular, argued that Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom will win the 2028 presidential election because Vance’s physical appearance makes him less human. A series of polls have Vance and Newsom polling strong among a list of potential 2028 presidential challengers.

I mean, like this next election cycle, who’s going to win? It’s going to be Gavin Newsom against J.D. Vance because J.D. Vance is subhuman and Gavin Newsom mugs,” Clavicular said. “He’s got a very short total facial width to height ratio. He’s obese, very recessed side profile, whereas Newsom is like [a] 6’3 Chad.”

J.D.’s very tall. J.D.’s got to be 6’2″ [or] 6’3,” Knowles said.

“Still, I mean, Gavin Newsom obviously mugs him to death,” the streamer continued.

WATCH:

Most polls have found Vance and Newsom are neck-and-neck in a hypothetical matchup in 2028, according to RealClearPolitics. An Emerson poll from July found Vance leading Newsom by three points, though the vice president was later ahead by one point in an October survey. A poll by Yahoo News found Newsom in the lead by eight points.

After gaining national attention throughout 2025, Newsom confirmed in October that he will consider running for his party’s nomination in the next presidential election. He launched a two-day tour in rural areas across South Carolina in July where he spoke to locals in coffee shops and small businesses.

The Democratic governor has also repeatedly imitated Trump’s communication style on social media. Vance said Newsom’s attempts to “mimic” the president were inauthentic during an appearance on the “Will Cain Show” in August.
