Trump to Netflix: Fire Susan Rice immediately or ‘pay the consequences’

by

President Donald Trump is turning up the heat on Netflix, demanding the streaming behemoth immediately remove former Obama official Susan Rice from its board — or, as he bluntly warned, “pay the consequences.” The president’s call comes after Rice unloaded a political broadside that many say sounded more like a threat than commentary.

Rice made her remarks during an appearance on the podcast “Stay Tuned with Preet,” hosted by former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. And she didn’t mince words.

Targeting corporations that have backed away from progressive causes under mounting Republican scrutiny, Rice cautioned that a Democratic comeback would not mean a return to business as usual. “This is not going to be an instance of forgive and forget. The damage that these people are doing is too severe to the American people and our national interest,” she declared.

“If these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back into power, are going to, you know, play by the old rules, and, you know, say, ‘Oh, never mind. We’ll forgive you for all the people you fired, all the policies and principles you’ve violated, all, you know, the laws you’ve skirted.’ I think they’ve got another thing coming,” Rice added.

Those words sounded like a warning shot across corporate America’s bow — a promise of political retribution should Democrats regain control in Washington. Rice even floated the idea of an incoming “accountability agenda,” predicting that the next midterm elections could bring an electoral shift.

Trump’s response? Swift and unmistakable.

The president, who has made no secret of his opposition to what he calls “woke corporate activism,” publicly urged Netflix to cut ties with Rice at once. While he didn’t spell out what “consequences” might follow if the company refuses, one message was clear: Conservative voters are watching.

Netflix has yet to comment publicly on the controversy.

Rice, who previously served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under President Obama, framed her remarks around what she described as corporations retreating from diversity and governance pledges in the face of Republican pressure. She also argued that public approval for Trump’s economic and immigration policies is slipping — a claim sure to inflame debate among his supporters.

But for critics of the Biden-era political establishment, the issue isn’t polling data — it’s power. They see Rice’s comments as confirmation that a future Democratic majority would wield government authority to punish companies that refuse to toe the progressive line.
