The information battlefield erupted again Monday morning as the U.S. military’s top command in the Middle East forcefully rejected claims circulating in Russian and Iranian media outlets about a missile incident in Bahrain.
According to U.S. officials, the story making the rounds overseas — that an American Patriot missile accidentally slammed into a Bahraini neighborhood — is nothing more than a manufactured narrative.
The rebuttal came directly from United States Central Command, the military authority responsible for U.S. operations across the Middle East.
CENTCOM issued a blunt public statement labeling the accusation a flat-out fabrication.
“The command called the claim a ‘lie.’”
The controversial allegation first surfaced through Russian and Iranian state-aligned reporting. Those outlets asserted that a U.S. Patriot air defense missile, launched to intercept an Iranian threat, missed its intended target and instead struck a civilian area in Bahrain.
But according to CENTCOM, the story completely flips the truth on its head. The command released a direct rebuttal explaining exactly what it says occurred.
“What really happened: An Iranian drone struck a residential neighborhood, injuring 32 civilians in Bahrain, including children who required medical treatment, according to Bahrain’s government,” the command said, adding “TRUTH.”
