Democrats storm out in showdown with Bondi: ‘we all just f*cking had it’

by

In a scene that felt more like political theater than serious oversight, a group of House Democrats dramatically exited a closed-door session with Attorney General Pam Bondi on Wednesday night—claiming she wouldn’t “follow the law,” even as Bondi flatly insisted the opposite.

The meeting came on the heels of a subpoena issued by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican leading an inquiry into what he described as “possible mismanagement” in the federal government’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. At the center of the dispute: lingering questions about why the Department of Justice has yet to fully release files tied to Epstein, despite a legal mandate to do so months ago.

Comer made the committee’s position clear in writing, noting: “The Committee has questions regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his associates and its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.” That frustration has been building, particularly among those who believe the American public deserves long-overdue answers.

Bondi, accompanied by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, appeared on Capitol Hill to address lawmakers—but did so behind closed doors and without being placed under oath. That detail quickly became a flashpoint for Democrats, who seemed more interested in staging a confrontation than engaging in substantive dialogue.

After the meeting, Rep. Robert Garcia accused Bondi of dodging accountability, saying she “refused on multiple occasions to commit to following the subpoena.” Yet Bondi didn’t mince words when speaking to reporters, pushing back on the narrative: she “made it crystal clear I will follow the law.”

Still, tensions boiled over.

According to Democrats, the breaking point came when Rep. Summer Lee pressed Comer on enforcement of the subpoena and was met with a dismissive remark—he said she was “bitching.” That moment, they claim, triggered the mass walkout.

Rep. Yassamin Ansari took to social media to air grievances in vivid terms, offering a blow-by-blow account dripping with outrage.

“So, I just got home from the most insane bullsh*t that Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche tried to pull,” Ansari said.

She went on to complain about what she described as a lack of transparency leading up to the meeting: “Truly, like we didn’t even know the format… A few hours prior, we found out we’d be able to ask questions. So we show up, and it becomes very clear quickly that this entire fake hearing we had, the intention of it is so that she doesn’t have to come and be under oath as part of a deposition.”

Ansari further detailed the rapid-fire structure of the session, saying members were limited to just minutes each before repeatedly pressing Bondi on whether she would comply with the subpoena:

“And we just kept asking her over and over again, ‘Do you intend to follow the law and come forward in front of this committee under oath?’ This lady would not answer the question. She was being so defensive. She was, I mean, I don’t know how they thought this was gonna go well, because they just looked even more guilty of a cover-up in the way they were acting and the fact that she literally would not commit to coming forward.”

Then came the moment that sent Democrats heading for the exits:

“And then my colleague, Congresswoman Lee, directed her question at Chairman Comer and said, ‘Chairman Comer, are you going to ensure that Attorney General Pam Bondi comes forward? And if she doesn’t, what actions are you willing to take?’ He decided to use that opportunity to say that she was ‘bitching.’ And that’s when we all just f*cking had it and walked out. And this is unacceptable and I look forward to seeing Pam Bondi on April 14.”

But strip away the theatrics, and a different picture emerges. Republicans argue this is yet another example of Democrats attempting to control the narrative rather than uncover facts—demanding a spectacle under oath while dismissing opportunities for dialogue that don’t fit their script.

Bondi, for her part, has held her ground: she says she will comply with the law.
