In a blistering broadside that’s already lighting up conservative circles, Mike Johnson is calling the tragic killing of young Sheridan Gorman in Chicago something far more sinister than a bureaucratic slip-up. According to Johnson, this wasn’t a failure — it was the system doing exactly what Democrats built it to do.
“The irony of all this is that the system did NOT fail Sheridan. That worked EXACTLY as the Democrats intended,” Johnson said, cutting straight to the point with the kind of blunt-force clarity that’s become rare in Washington.
With Democrats controlling both the White House and deep-blue Chicago, Johnson argues the conditions were practically engineered for disaster. “You had Democrats in charge of the White House and in charge in the city of Chicago. Open borders policies, sanctuary cities policies, they coddled the criminal illegal alien,” he said.
Johnson laid the blame squarely on policies he says prioritize politics over public safety. “They empowered, they allowed this to happen and that’s why we’re so angry about it!” he added — echoing the frustration of Americans who are watching the same story play out again and again.
And here’s the part that’s hardest to swallow: this wasn’t some unknown threat slipping through the cracks. “He was in the custody of law enforcement TWICE and there were two chances to stop Sheridan’s killer,” Johnson said.
Twice.
But according to Johnson, those chances evaporated thanks to what he calls a toxic mix of open-border ideology and sanctuary city protections. “But Democrats open borders guaranteed the release and their soft on crime sanctuary policies ensured his impunity and that’s why this happened.”
Johnson then posed the question many Americans are already asking: “How many more times does this story have to be repeated?! Everybody needs to be asking that question!” It’s a refrain that’s becoming all too familiar — a cycle of outrage, tragedy, and political finger-pointing, with little sign of change.
And if you think this is the last time we’ll hear a story like this, Johnson isn’t optimistic. “Unfortunately the Democrats agenda is going to continue to come at the expense of American citizens, innocent American people, as long as the Democrats insist on shielding dangerous criminals from our laws.”
