Call it a case of self-inflicted PR pain.
Sen. Lindsey Graham is learning the hard way that not every photo op is a winner — especially in the middle of a government funding mess that’s leaving airport security workers high and dry.
With Washington locked in yet another ugly standoff over Department of Homeland Security funding, the fallout is hitting everyday Americans where it hurts: the airport. TSA agents have been showing up to work without pay, and many simply can’t afford to keep doing it. The result? Massive callouts, skeleton crews, and security lines stretching for hours.
In one alarming case, even a federal investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board reportedly got stuck in the chaos while trying to reach the scene of a deadly runway accident at LaGuardia Airport.
And while the dysfunction drags on, both sides are doing what they do best — pointing fingers. Democrats argue that Republicans own the mess, noting that Donald Trump was in the White House and the GOP controlled Congress at the time. Republicans, meanwhile, accuse Democrats of digging in their heels with unreasonable demands and procedural fights over the filibuster.
But here’s the kicker: nothing’s getting fixed anytime soon — because Congress skipped town for Easter recess.
That didn’t sit well with watchdogs or the public. Celebrity news outlet TMZ has been practically deputizing its readers to play paparazzi, urging them to snap photos of lawmakers living it up while federal workers go unpaid.
Plenty of politicians have been spotted traveling, but Graham stole the spotlight — and not in a good way.
The South Carolina Republican was photographed at Walt Disney World, smiling it up at a character breakfast with Mickey Mouse and strolling through Fantasyland clutching what onlookers described as a “bubble wand.”
Lindsey Graham was ineffective talking his colleagues into keeping the government open, but he had a great convo with Mickey Mouse Sunday … at Disney World!!!

Not exactly the image you want when thousands of workers are missing paychecks.

Graham defended himself, telling TMZ he had been in South Florida for meetings with Trump administration officials before stopping in Orlando to see friends. He pushed back on the criticism, saying, “I voted 7 times to fully fund the government. Call a Democrat.”
TMZ wasn’t buying the partisan spin, firing back with a blunt assessment: “Democrats AND Republicans are to blame — they couldn’t reach a compromise but still booked it out of D.C. [for] Spring Break.”
The Disney detour triggered predictable outrage, with critics blasting the senator as tone-deaf at best.
But Graham wasn’t done.
As if daring the internet to pile on, he returned home to South Carolina and posted another photo — this time holding a shotgun, ready to shoot clay targets.

Cue the backlash, round two. It doesn’t take a political strategist to see what’s coming: when you go from posing with a bubble wand at Disney to brandishing a firearm days later, the mockery practically writes itself.
