Barron’s brew: First son previews new Sunshine State beverage line with a splash

by

First son Barron Trump is stepping into the beverage game — and not quietly. The 19-year-old NYU business student is helping steer a new yerba mate drink brand that’s already teasing its debut flavors ahead of a May rollout.

The company, SOLLOS Yerba Mate, based just a stone’s throw from Mar-a-Lago, broke the news on LinkedIn with a splashy reveal: “Introducing our 12-pack: Pineapple + Coconut. Launching May 2026.”  The Trump orbit is about to crack open a tropical, caffeine-fueled play in a red-hot market.

Barron — listed in state filings as a director — isn’t just lending a famous last name. He’s part of a small crew of young operators trying to bottle the Sunshine State lifestyle and sell it nationwide. The Palm Beach startup has already pulled in $1 million from private investors, according to January filings, and stacked its leadership team with a mix of college entrepreneurs and Palm Beach insiders.

The product itself? Yerba mate — a South American herbal tea that’s become the go-to alternative for Americans ditching traditional coffee. Think clean energy, minus the jittery crash.

And SOLLOS is leaning hard into branding. The name riffs on the sun: “SOL,” meaning sunrise, and “LOS” flipped to signal sunset — a full-day cycle wrapped in a can. As the company puts it, the concept is about capturing that endless Florida energy: “It Begins Where It Ends.”

The visuals back it up. Early clips show sleek, light-blue cans rolling down production lines, stamped with a bold sun logo in warm orange and yellow hues. Packaging follows suit — bright, beachy, and built for Instagram.

The drinks will be sold online through the company’s website when they launch.

Behind the scenes, the venture looks like a tight-knit operation. Barron is joined by Spencer Bernstein, Stephen Hall, Rudolfo Castello and Valentino Gomez — several of whom share ties to Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach.

Bernstein, for one, is going all in. The Villanova student announced he’s hitting pause on school to focus on the business, writing: “I’ve decided to postpone my final semester at Villanova University to focus on something I’ve been building for the past 8 months.”

He added: “Since the end of last school year I have been working alongside my co-founder, Stephen Hall, and a few close friends on SOLLOS Yerba Mate, a lifestyle beverage brand built around clean + functional ingredients.”

Hall, now at Notre Dame, is also listed as an executive and director — another young gun betting big on the booming energy drink space.

Love him or hate him, the Trump brand has always been about going big — and Barron’s first swing at business is no exception. While legacy media obsesses over politics, the youngest Trump is quietly testing whether his name — and a well-timed product — can cut through one of the most competitive consumer markets in America.
