Newsmax host goes scorched earth on Pete Hegseth

by

Daily Caller News Foundation

Newsmax host Greg Kelly criticized Secretary of War Pete Hegseth Friday over the firing of Secretary of the Navy John Phelan.

Phelan’s immediate departure from the administration was announced Wednesday, with Undersecretary of the Navy Hung Cao stepping in as acting secretary. Kelly accused Hegseth of having “lied and conned” his way through life in a Friday X post.

“What a DESPICABLE guy Hegseth is. Frustrated that he can’t remove his Real Nemesis, the Army Secretary, He Fires the NAVY Secretary, has him ‘walked out of the building’ by security. But this was NOT an Urgent matter,” Kelly posted. “Could have given the SECNAV a month, maybe 2 weeks notice. You know, The DECENT thing to do.”

“Instead this Insecure FAKE, who Lied and Conned his way thru Life (see Mom) and the Trump admin (see ‘confidential settlement’ ie Blackmail of accuser #1) Blows up Someone Else’s life bc he can’t Handle his own. Not CUTE anymore,” Kelly continued.

The Department of War referred the Daily Caller News Foundation to a Wednesday post on X by chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. Kelly did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.

In an X post on Wednesday, Kelly appeared to have a different view of Phelan being “fired.”

“WOW! Secretary of the Navy FIRED!  You know I have my ‘differences’ with PETE, but given the timing, I bet HEGSETH had a VERY good reason to “Jettison” that guy.  Disloyal? Rooting for the EMEMY?” Kelly posted.

Phelan’s firing came days after the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Spruance disabled and seized an Iranian vessel trying to run the blockade imposed by President Donald Trump.

  1. I don’t believe ANYTHING the main stream media as to say. If seems as if they all have a personal axe to grind and I think Hegseth is doing a wonderful job of cleaning up the mess the Biden Administration had made!!

  2. I don’t know enough to comment on this item. What I do know is that President Trump has gone nuts! He wants to add another half trillion dollars to the military budget, which is already one trillion dollars!
How about getting rid of waste, fraud, duplicity, and corruption first? I’ll bet you there’s between 15 to 30 percent there!
We are spending billions on useless weapons , or weapons that are not needed. We fixed rates where the companies can never lose money, even if the end product doesn’t live up to the specks asked for! WTF!
Also, the Pentagon has to stop adding items to a product all through its construction. That delays delivery dates and rises prices by much!
We are getting less and less for our bucks, and they are getting more complicated.
We are far behind in the forward thinking. We are using million dollar missiles to shoot down a thousand dollar drones. WTF!!!
What happened to that audit that was done right before 9/11? Where the F are those results? Not mentioned since!
We spend way more than the next ten countries on military!
We have around 12 aircraft carriers and are buying more at over a billion each.
We are becoming more dependent on more complex weapons, while our enemies can out produce us on less complicated weapons. Case in point: if we send out 10 F-35s and our enemy sends out 50 less up dated fighters. Who wins? Not us, because every one of our losses is harder to replace, ( not counting training) while the older fighters of our enemy sends, though they would lose more, can be replaced faster, and cheaper.
We are not fixing the problem, but just doing what the Democrats do… throw more money at it.
This Sh:T isn’t what I voted for. I’m Fn tired of feeding the war machine, and the spy machine since they’re both used against us!
We are not moving forward, but spending like there is no tomorrow, which at this rate will be the result.
