Tom Homan blasts left’s ICE smears as death threats against agents skyrocket by 8000%

by

The left spent years insisting words matter. Now that immigration agents are the target, that rule appears to have been tossed straight out the window.

White House Border Czar Tom Homan is sounding the alarm over what he says is a dangerous wave of anti-ICE rhetoric coming from Democratic politicians and activist allies — language he argues is helping create a hostile climate for the federal officers tasked with enforcing America’s immigration laws.

During a weekend appearance on Lara Trump’s Fox News program, Homan blasted the increasingly common comparisons between Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and some of history’s most notorious villains.

According to Homan, the nonstop barrage of accusations branding ICE officers as “Nazis,” “secret police,” and racists isn’t just political theater. He says it is having real-world consequences.

“When you keep using those [terms] — the Nazi, secret police, racist [claims] — that instills violence,” Homan said. “That’s why death threats against ICE officers are up 8,000%.”

That’s a staggering figure if accurate — and one Homan says should force politicians to think twice before casually tossing around inflammatory labels.

The longtime immigration official argued that critics are not merely attacking agency leadership or administration policy. Instead, he said, they are demonizing thousands of rank-and-file officers who show up every day to do a difficult and often dangerous job.

Asked how the attacks affect morale among agents in the field, Homan pushed back forcefully against accusations that immigration enforcement is driven by race. “I’m an equal opportunity deporter,” he said. “I don’t care what color they are or what country they’re from.”

Homan noted that immigration authorities have removed individuals from more than 160 countries around the world, including nations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The mission, he argued, is about enforcing federal law, not targeting specific ethnic groups.

But Homan reserved his sharpest criticism for elected Democrats who continue to compare immigration enforcement operations to some of history’s darkest chapters.

His frustration comes amid a years-long trend of Democratic officials reaching for increasingly explosive rhetoric when discussing border enforcement. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has likened federal immigration actions to tactics employed by Nazi Germany. Massachusetts Representative Ayanna Pressley has compared ICE personnel to members of the Ku Klux Klan. Similar comparisons have surfaced repeatedly from progressive activists, media personalities, and anti-border-enforcement groups.

The same political figures who regularly warn about the dangers of “hate speech” have shown little hesitation in branding federal law-enforcement officers as fascists, racists, or worse. Homan argued that while most political critics stop at rhetoric, a small fringe is willing to take the next step.

According to the border czar, portraying ICE agents as villains effectively paints targets on their backs and emboldens unstable individuals who may already be inclined toward harassment or violence.
