A public feud between former FBI official Dan Bongino and NewsNation host Chris Cuomo escalated this week after Cuomo questioned Bongino’s handling of issues surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case, triggering a profanity-laced response and the release of private messages.
The exchange began after Bongino posted criticism of commentator Tucker Carlson, accusing him of making unsupported claims regarding former President Donald Trump and an investigation connected to the Butler assassination attempt.
“As we all anxiously wait for Tucker to produce a single piece of evidence for any of his psychotic claims,” Bongino wrote, adding that critics had been “played” by a “circus clown.”
As we all anxiously wait for Tucker to produce a single piece of evidence for any of his psychotic claims, I sense a growing rage amongst his shrinking number of groupies.
They must know by now that they’ve been played. They’ve invested their time in a circus clown who has… https://t.co/8ohdFKpZK7— Dan Bongino (@dbongino) July 5, 2026
Cuomo responded by shifting attention away from Carlson and toward lingering public questions surrounding the Epstein files.
“Help me get why ANY of you are ok with Bongino saying this after he did you dirty on Epstein?” Cuomo wrote on X.
The response drew an immediate reaction from Bongino.
“Did you dirty? What the f**k are you talking about? I busted my ass on that case. Did you miss that entire news cycle? Remember when you kissed my ass when I saw [you] at the UFC? Remember your people begging me to be on your shi**y show? (Receipts attached). You’re a fraud. Go back to posing naked in your backyard while playing with life sized Q-Tips with your brother,” he wrote.
Bongino then posted screenshots that appeared to show repeated attempts by Cuomo’s production team to book him for interviews.
The screenshots appeared to show multiple messages seeking to arrange an appearance with Cuomo, including one reading, “Hey Dan — don’t want to keep blowing you up if you aren’t interested but I wanna get you on with Chris Cuomo.”

Another message asked, “Want to make this convo happen!”
The exchange quickly generated significant attention online, with supporters of both men weighing in across social media.
Questions surrounding Epstein-related records have remained a recurring source of controversy across both traditional and alternative media, with public frustration often directed at officials, commentators, and media figures who have discussed the issue.
Neither Cuomo nor Bongino appeared interested in de-escalating the dispute, and the online clash continued to generate millions of views throughout the day.
