A Florida woman described online as an at-home caregiver for elderly patients is drawing intense criticism after a video circulated showing her apparently celebrating the upcoming anniversary of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
The video exploded across X after being amplified by several prominent conservative accounts.
Libs of TikTok posted what it said was information from the woman’s caregiver profile, which reportedly described her as “compassionate” and “empathetic,” and asked followers whether anyone knew which company employed her. Twitchy reported that she is believed to work as an at-home caregiver in Brooksville, Florida.
That occupation quickly became the center of the controversy.

Radio host Mike Gallagher questioned whether families would feel comfortable entrusting a loved one to someone who publicly celebrated a political assassination, while New York Post columnist Miranda Devine also condemned the video. Other users called for the woman’s employer to be identified.
The episode arrives almost exactly one year after Kirk, 31, was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025. His murder triggered a nationwide controversy over people who celebrated or mocked his death online — with hundreds reportedly facing firings, suspensions, investigations or other professional consequences.
Some of those cases subsequently became First Amendment lawsuits, particularly when government employees were involved. Earlier this year, Florida agreed to a $485,000 settlement with a state wildlife biologist who had been fired over a post criticizing Kirk after his death.
For now, however, the latest Florida caregiver appears to be facing a social-media firestorm rather than a confirmed employment action.
MY QUICK TAKE:
“Compassionate caregiver” and “celebrating an assassination” really shouldn’t appear on the same résumé.
