Melania’s team breaks silence on Trump’s ‘human printer’ aide

Melania Trump’s camp has finally weighed in on the increasingly public fascination with Natalie Harp — and the message is essentially: Enough already.

Marc Beckman, the first lady’s senior adviser and spokesman, was asked about Harp during an interview with conservative host Stella Escobedo this week as attention continues to swirl around the 35-year-old executive assistant’s extraordinarily visible role at President Donald Trump’s side.

“The liberal media is ridiculous,” Beckman said.

“They don’t know anything about the first lady’s personal and private life,” he continued, arguing that reporters devote more attention to gossip than Melania Trump’s initiatives.

Beckman then offered a forceful defense of Harp herself.

“What they need to do is look in the mirror because they’re all attacking this hardworking, very talented, very intelligent person in Natalie Harp,” he said.

He accused the press of being “obsessed with the gossip with the first family,” adding that reporters should “become journalists and stop looking at the gossip.”

Harp’s unusual role has been attracting considerably more attention lately.

Her official White House title is special assistant and executive assistant to the president, but she earned the unofficial nickname “human printer” because she follows Trump with a portable printer and supplies him with physical copies of news articles, social-media posts and other material he wants to read. She also frequently handles Trump’s dictation for Truth Social posts.

Her devotion to Trump has become part of the story.

CBS News reported that Harp is one of the president’s most trusted aides and quoted a passage from Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s book “Regime Change,” in which Trump reportedly told staffers about Harp: “All of you will go off and make money. She’ll never leave me.”

Harp was also among the small group of aides who accompanied Trump during a secretive plane transfer following a potential Iranian assassination threat in Turkey, further highlighting just how close she operates to the president.

And this week came another attention-grabbing revelation.

Financial disclosures showed Trump personally gave Harp and two other White House aides $45,000 each as holiday cash gifts. A former Bush administration ethics lawyer told The Washington Post the payments appeared problematic under federal law, while the White House strongly disputed that interpretation and said the gifts were personal, longstanding Trump holiday gestures unrelated to the recipients’ government work.

Harp has also faced scrutiny over intensely personal letters she reportedly wrote Trump in 2023. The correspondence included declarations of loyalty and gratitude and reportedly caused concern among some people around Trump.

All of it has turned an aide who once operated largely outside the public spotlight into a recurring political story. Now Melania Trump’s camp has entered that story itself — not by distancing the first lady from Harp, but by defending Harp and telling the press to knock off the gossip.
